This will be the last hold/stream list of the season as we’re about a month away from the end of the regular season.  My plan is to start working on the Playoff Manifesto on Tuesday with the hopes of having it ready on Friday for everybody.  Per usual, there will be notes in the list where necessary.  Assume a 12 team league and I’m holding the starting goalie only unless noted.  Let’s get to it!

ANAHEIM DUCKS

Hold: Terry, Zegras

Stream: Fowler, Shattenkirk, Drysdale

I don’t much to do with Anaheim at the moment.

ARIZONA COYOTES

Hold: Keller, Schmaltz, Gostisbehere

Stream: Crouse, Vejmelka

If your league includes hits, obviously hold Lawson Crouse.  I wouldn’t hold Karel Vejmelka, but he has huge upside in a single game, so in good matchups, I don’t mind taking the swing.

BOSTON BRUINS

Hold: Marchand, Pastrnak, Bergeron, Hall, McAvoy, Swayman, Ullmark

Stream: DeBrusk, Lindholm, Smith, Coyle, Grzcelyk

Swayman is an automatic hold, but I lean towards holding Linus Ullmark still.  I can’t imagine Boston running Swayman into the ground going into the playoffs so Ullmark should get a fair amount of work, and he’s won 20 of 31 starts.

BUFFALO SABRES

Hold: Thompson, Skinner, Tuch, Dahlin

Stream: Mittelstadt, Krebs, Cozens, Olofsson, Okposo, Anderson

For those of you in deep leagues, Casey Mittelstadt is currently on the first power play unit which gives him a nice boost.

CALGARY FLAMES

Hold: Tkachuk, Gaudreau, Lindholm, Mangiapane, Toffoli, Andersson

Stream: Coleman, Backlund, Dube, Hanifin, Kylington

Noah Hanifin is firmly on the fringe and can be held based on team needs.

CAROLINA HURRICANES

Hold: Aho, Teravainen, Svechnikov, DeAngelo, Slavin

Stream: Jarvis, Trocheck, Necas, Niederreiter, Kotkaniemi, Domi, Skjei

CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS

Hold: Kane, DeBrincat, Strome, Jones

Stream: Raddysh, Toews, Kubalik, Gustafsson, Lankinen

Dylan Strome has been on a tear playing with Kane and DeBrincat which is enough to make him a hold.  Kevin Lankinen is the #1 right now.  He’s been awful most of the season, but been okay since MAF was traded.  It’s risky, but most goalies can get hot over a month.

COLORADO AVALANCHE

Hold: MacKinnon, Rantanen, Kadri, Nichushkin, Makar, Toews

Stream: Burakovsky, Newhook, Francouz

COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS

Hold: Laine, Werenski

Stream: Bjorkstrand, Roslovic, Voracek, Bean

DALLAS STARS

Hold: Robertson, Hintz, Pavelski, Klingberg

Stream: Seguin, Namestnikov, Gurianov, Lindell

DETROIT RED WINGS

Hold: Larkin, Bertuzzi, Seider

Stream: Raymond, Vrana, Hronek

I can go either way on Lucas Raymond and Jakub Vrana.  If you want to hold, I have no problem.

EDMONTON OILERS

Hold: McDavid, Draisaitl, RNH, Kane, Yamamoto, Hyman, Barrie, Nurse

Stream: Puljujarvi, Bouchard

The one I’m most torn on here is Kailer Yamamoto.  I’m holding for now, but RNH’s return takes Yamamoto off PP1 which is a big hit.  It’s worth monitoring over the next couple games.

FLORIDA PANTHERS

Hold: Barkov, Huberdeau, Giroux, Reinhart, Duclair, Marchment, Weegar

Stream: Bennett, Verhaeghe, Montour, Knight

LOS ANGELES KINGS

Hold: Kopitar, Arvidsson, Kempe, Durzi

Stream: Danault, Iafallo, Moore, Kaliyev, Byfield, Petersen

With Doughty out, Sean Durzi is doing enough for me to hold him.  The minutes are through the roof.

MINNESOTA WILD

Hold: Kaprizov, Hartman, Zuccarello, Fiala, Spurgeon, MAF, Talbot

Stream: Boldy, Gaudreau, JEE, Foligno

Matthew Boldy has really cooled off making him a streamer.  For now, I’m still holding Cam Talbot.  I can’t imagine the Wild running MAF into the ground in the regular season with their playoff ambitions.

MONTREAL CANADIENS

Hold: Caufield, Suzuki

Stream: Anderson, Hoffman, Romanov

NASHVILLE PREDATORS

Hold: Forsberg, Duchene, Josi

Stream: Johansen, Jeannot, Granlund, Tolvanen

NEW JERSEY DEVILS

Hold: Hughes, Bratt, Hischier, Hamilton, Severson

Stream: Sharangovich, Tatar, Wood

Could we finally be getting the offensive breakout from Nico Hischier?  He’s on fire at the moment so I’m holding for now, but Devils fans have to be salivating thinking of Hughes/Hischier going forward.

NEW YORK ISLANDERS

Hold: Nelson, Barzal, Dobson, Varlamov, Sorokin

Stream: Lee, Wahlstrom, Beauvillier, Palmieri, Pulock

I’m giving Mathew Barzal some benefit of the doubt.  I have no shares myself, but I have no problem letting him go if you do have him.

NEW YORK RANGERS

Hold: Kreider, Zibanejad, Panarin, Strome, Fox, Trouba

Stream: Vatrano, Copp, Lafreniere, Chytil

Frank Vatrano has looked excellent on the first line since his arrival in New York.  He’s in the elite streamer category.

OTTAWA SENATORS

Hold: Tkachuk, Batherson, Norris

Stream: Stutzle, Formenton, Brown, White, Brannstrom

PHILADELPHIA FLYERS

Hold: None?

Stream: Atkinson, Konecny, Hayes, JVR, Farabee, Provorov

Cam Atkinson is on the fringe for me now.  It’s not that I’m opposed to using Philly guys, but they’re a mess right now.

PITTSBURGH PENGUINS

Hold: Crosby, Guentzel, Rust, Malkin, Letang

Stream: Rodrigues, Rakell, Carter

Rickard Rakell is playing with Malkin now so he could turn into a hold pretty fast.  Evan Rodrigues is back with Crosby, but the lack of PP1 time means he won’t get back to where he was earlier in the season.

SAN JOSE SHARKS

Hold: Meier, Hertl, Karlsson, Burns

Stream: Barabanov, Kahkonen

SEATTLE KRAKEN

Hold: Dunn

Stream: McCann, Eberle, Gourde, Donato, Soucy

With Giordano out of the fold, Vince Dunn is an easy hold for me.  Big fan of his game when he gets the opportunity.

ST. LOUIS BLUES

Hold: Perron, Tarasenko, Kyrou, Thomas, Buchnevich, Faulk

Stream: RoR, Schenn, Saad, Leddy

TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING

Hold: Kucherov, Point, Stamkos, Hedman, Sergachev

Stream: Killorn, Cirelli, Palat, Hagel

TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS

Hold: Matthews, Marner, Tavares, Nylander, Rielly, Giordano

Stream: Bunting, Kerfoot, Mikheyev, Kallgren

I would really like Toronto to give Colin Blackwell a bigger role, but for now, he can’t be used on the fourth line.

VANCOUVER CANUCKS

Hold: Miller, Pettersson, Horvat, Hughes

Stream: Boeser, Pearson, Garland, OEL

VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS

Hold: Eichel, Marchessault, Stephenson, Theodore, Pietrangelo

Stream: Dadonov, Karlsson, Thompson

I’m kind of bullish on Chandler Stephenson right now.  On a team struggling, he’s playing great hockey.  If you’re in anything with 10+ people, you kind of have to stick it out with Shea Theodore.

WASHINGTON CAPITALS

Hold: Ovechkin, Kuznetsov, Wilson, Carlson

Stream: Oshie, Mantha, Backstrom, Johansson, Sheary, Orlov, Samsonov

WINNIPEG JETS

Hold: Connor, Dubois, Wheeler, Scheifele, Ehlers, Morrissey

Stream: Stastny, Pionk

With Morrissey on a massive tear, I’m putting Neal Pionk on the fringe and lean towards leaving him on the wire.  Can go either way here though.

Three Point Challenge: We will do Tuesday’s games per usual.  You can’t take McDavid, Draisaitl, Gaudreau, Huberdeau, Tkachuk, Connor, Matthews, Kaprizov, Miller, Kadri, or Josi.  I’ll take Barkov against the Canadiens.

That’s all for now guys.  I’ll be back on Wednesday recapping the action of the next two nights.  As always, feel free to ask any questions, leave any comments, or give any suggestions below.  Thanks for reading, take care!

Hi Viz,

I’m in a plyoff spot with one regular season week left. H2H 10 team with G, A, P, +/-, SOG, PPP, Hits and W, Sv%, GAA, SO.

Need a couple of start/sit recommendations:

Pick 1 forward:
Suzuki 3 games @FLA, @CAR @TB
Keller 4 games @EDM, SJ, ANH, @CHI
Fiala 4 games PHI, PIT, @CAR, @WAS

Pick 1 goalie:
Oettinger 4 games @ANH, @ANH, @SJ, @SEA

Cal Peterson 4 games SEA, @EDM, @CGY, @WPG

For context I have Igor as my goalie 1.

Thanks!

Thanks Viz – assuming you go Fiala over Keller then if I sit Suzuki?

I’ll take Zuccarello in the challenge.

Love this feature, btw.

Goalie question:

I have Saros, Varlamov, Husso in one league with Ullmark, Smith (Edm), and Samsonov on the wire. Do I make any changes?
