I hope everyone’s long weekend went well!  Reid and I are back recapping a massive weekend of hockey.  After a couple minutes of football and Westworld talk (no spoilers), we talk extensively about Florida’s decision to fire Gerard Gallant and the impact it has on their team in real life and fantasy.  From there, we talk about the incredible hot streaks of Michael CammalleriCraig Anderson and Milan Lucic.  Sadly, there were a ton of injuries over in the last week so we do a thorough rundown on that front plus look at players on the verge of returning e.g. Jack Eichel.  As always, we wrap things up with The Three Point Challenge.  All of that and more in the latest edition of The Razzball Hockey Podcast!

Tuesday’s Streamers – We are back to the normal schedule with 12 games on the slate.  Here are my top three options:

Sam Reinhart (19.8%) – He finally went below the 20% threshold at a time where it doesn’t make much sense to me.  We talk about Reinhart quite a bit on the podcast when we discuss Eichel but let’s just say I expect improvement sooner than later.  He already has 3 points in his last 3 so I don’t understand the drop in ownership.

Nino Niederreiter (17.0%) – Five points in his last four games and he gets to play the Canucks.  What’s not to like?

Jesse Puljujarvi (9.0%) – Playing on the first line with Connor McDavid and Lucic is enough for me to use him against Toronto.  Hopefully there are more goals than the first time they played.

Great podcast Viz, I am going with Bergeron for the 3 point challenge.

All of my goalies are playing tonight. I am thinking of benching Luongo against Chicago.
I have both TB goalies and Rinne and leaning towards them.
The totals are 5 in all 3 games- Fla is +125, TB is +105 and Nashville is -130.
First year doing NHL and I read last week you like to use betting lines to help pick your goalies that makes sense to me!

@Man Of Steel: Thanks man, sounds good! Well done looking at that stuff. I would probably go the same way as you. It’s close between Vasilevskiy and Luongo just because Florida may come out fired up with the new coach (the GM) but with the way Vasilevskiy is playing, I’d just start him.

with eichel coming back who is my drop… leaning kreider but i like his grease (hits pim)

    current squad:
    C: McDavid, Berg, Johnson, Kadri
    LW: Schenn, Kreider, Schwartz, March
    RW: Simmonds, Ehlers, Marner
    D: Burns, OEL, Warenski, Krug

i wish I could drop vasilevskiy but bishop is meh and hes playing so well ugh… should i be looking to make a trade maybe? cant even think who a good target would be for me

    marchand for 3!

@Shitwolf: Man, your team is loaded. Tyler Johnson maybe with the lack of PIM? He’s been playing much better lately though. I feel like it has to be between him, Kadri and Kreider, you can’t drop Vasilevskiy at the moment. I think you can go any direction depending on what categories you’re looking for.

        @Viz:

I went with Johnson… I think my scoring is stacked already and I can’t see myself starting Johnson over Berg/McD/Eichel and even Kadri at this point… I figure Bergeron will start scoring soon also! Thanks for the help buddy and I hope eichel helps your Sabers out!

@Shitwolf: Right, that was why I threw him out there. I agree that Bergeron will get rolling, he’s spending too much time in the offensive zone to remain this snakebit. No problem at all, well done with that team, it’s absolutely loaded. Thanks! The Sabres and my fantasy teams can use the help haha

Start 2 tonight. I don’t see a clear choice for the bench. Any thoughts?

    Bob V Tampa
    Rask V Philly
    Hellebuyck V NJ

    3 point challenge: MacKinnon

@distant_station: I like the MacKinnon call the way he’s playing, good luck! Umm, I think I’d sit Bob, Tampa is just a rough matchup.

@Veritas: No problem at all. Not a bad spot against the Sabres, the top line historically does well against them. Good luck!

I have a couple of goalie questions:

Bernier has been playing every other game lately for Anaheim. Is he an add right now. I also own Gibson

    Who to start tonight?
    Gibson vs MON
    Hellebuyck vs NJ
    Vasilevisky @ CLS

    Thanks

    • Viz

@ashtray: Who would you be cutting to do it? I’d lean no but I think you can justify it more owning Gibson. If you want a win most, the betting lines say sit Vasilevskiy. Personally, I’d lean towards sitting Gibson just because he’s been up and down plus Montreal is damn good.

Another one… can I finally ditch Larkin in a 12 team?

    Cats are:
    G
    A
    +/-
    PIM
    PPP
    SHP
    Hits

@ashtray: It’s close but yeah, if there’s somebody else you really want to grab, you can go for it.

    Hey guys,

I play in a league that’s well outside my skill level for hockey, I don’t know shit about hockey. I was offered Ryan O’Reilly for my Mitch Marnier and my instinct is to keep Marnier, but that’s probably just because he’s been producing and I don’t really know who O’Reilly is. Oh it’s a 14 team keeper league where we can keep up to 5 players.

    Thanks.

    • Viz

      Viz says:
      (link)

@farcus: Hey Farcus, welcome to the hockey side of things! Ryan O’Reilly is a very good player in his own right. He’s the second best player on the Sabres; he finished with 60 points in 71 games last year. It’s been somewhat of a slow start for him due to injury but it’s a great sign that he’s shooting the puck a ton. That said, I would hold onto Marner assuming your league has normal categories. They are very close in value right now but with Marner only 19 years old, there’s definitely more keeper value on his side. The extra penalty minutes help as well.
