It hasn’t been a good year for Columbus, but they seem to have solved their goaltending issue going forward.  Jet Greaves stole the show on Thursday night, shutting out the juggernaut Stars in the 1-0 win, making 28 saves.  After that performance, Greaves is the #11 goalie for the season.  One of my ten bold predictions from the preseason was that Greaves would finish as a top 12 goalie.  There’s no guarantee it holds, and some of my predictions were truly awful (I’ll take a look at them during the break), but this one has a good chance of hitting.  Hopefully you all drafted Greaves as your third goalie and you’re reaping the benefits.  Let’s take a look at what else happened over the last two nights:

Wednesday’s Games:

John Gibson – 30 saves on 31 shots in the 2-1 OT win over the Maple Leafs.  Gibson has been a big surprise this season.  He’s an elite #2 in 12’ers and a borderline bottom end #1.

Dylan Larkin – Goal and an assist with five shots.  Larkin is in position to smash his previous career high in goals.  He’s been fantastic and should be a big factor in the Olympics.

Christian Dvorak – Two goals and an assist with six shots playing over 22 minutes.  It’s clear that Tocchet loves Dvorak.  He’s in solid streamer range.

Trevor Zegras – Two assists with two shots.  Zegras has cooled off a bit, but it’s still been a fantastic bounce back after a couple of lost seasons.

Jamie Drysdale – Two assists with two shots.  Both assists came on the power play, but the secondary numbers aren’t good enough for 12’ers.  Anything deeper though, and Drysdale is worth holding.

Clayton Keller – Two goals and an assist with five shots.  Nick Schmaltz and Dylan Guenther each had two assists.  Massive heater for Keller, who has thirteen points in his last seven games.  Given where his shooting percentage has been for most of his career, Keller should still have some more positive regression.

Lukas Dostal – 40 saves on 41 shots in the 2-1 OT win over Colorado.  Master class from Dostal, who had arguably the second best performance of the season after Sorokin’s shutout in Edmonton.  The Ducks have been a disaster lately, which has hurt Dostal’s numbers.  They seem to be committing defensively with all of their injuries, so I would still hold Dostal and hope he continues this surge.

Philipp Grubauer – 24 saves on 25 shots in the 4-1 win over the Islanders.  He had two bad games before this, but Grubauer has earned what is basically a 50/50 split with Daccord.  He’s done enough to be a bottom end hold.

Jared McCann – Goal and an assist, as did Vince Dunn.  They’re the two guys carrying the Kraken offense right now.  Montour is the only other Kraken skater worth holding.  And now that I mention that, I’ll be updating my hold/stream list on Monday.

Stuart Skinner – 18 saves on 19 shots in the 4-1 win over the Flames.  Skinner is worth holding right now.  The Penguins are playing well and we know his upside.  In ten games with Pitt, Skinner is sitting with a 2.34/.902.  That’ll work.

Evgeni Malkin – Goal and an assist with three shots.  I did not see this Malkin resurgence coming.  The minutes are down, but he’s doing a lot more with them.  The shot rate is even back up a ton.  Malkin is crushing across the board.

Tommy Novak – Goal and an assist with two shots and two PIM.  Novak is doing well with the Russians on his wings, but he’s only a middling streamer.

Dylan Strome – Two goals and an assist with three shots.  Strome has taken a step back, mostly becuase his shooting percentage is back down.  That said, he’s still a bottom end hold.

John Carlson – Two assists with four shots and two PIM.  Carlson is arguably having his best season since COVID.  Perfect #2 in 12’ers.

Justin Sourdif – Goal and an assist with three shots.  He’s worked his way into the top six and second power play unit.  Sourdif is a midlding streamer now.

Jake DeBrusk – Two assists.  The shot rate is very good, but he isn’t finishing.  It’s hard to get DeBrusk past a middling stremer level.

Brock Boeser – Goal and an assist with four shots.  Boeser is sitting with a -29 already.  Woof.  Bottom end streamer.

David Kampf – Two assists with a shot.  And there’s your annual Kampf update!

Thursday’s Games:

Nick Suzuki – Goal and an assist with three shots.  The goals are down as a direct result of his shooting percentage, but he has a great chance to top last season’s 59 assists.  Suzuki is a clear top 75 fantasy player and borderline top 50 despite the shot rate.

Casey DeSmith – 21 saves on 22 shots as the tough luck loser to Greaves.  Worth streaming in every start right now.

Ilya Mikheyev – Goal and an assist with two shots.  With Teravainen out, Mikheyev is getting top six minutes.  Even with that, hard to get past a bottom end streamer.

Jack Eichel – Goal and an assist with four shots.  Ten game point streak for Eichel, who is currently playing at a 114 point pace over 82 games.  Pretty incredible season so far.

David Pastrnak – Goal and two assists with six shots.  Pasta is willing his team into the heart of the playoff race.  He’s clearly a top 10 player.

Elias Lindholm – Goal and an assist with three shots.  Boston has to be beyond relieved with Lindholm turning things around.  That contract looked like a boat anchor after last season.  The points are good enough that he’s in the solid streamer range now.

Morgan Geekie – Two assists with a shot and two PIM.  The regression fairies have found Geekie in a big way.  He’s down on the fringe now and you can pretty easily make a case to put him on the waiver wire in 10’ers.

Daniil Tarasov – 17 saves on 18 shots beating Connor Hellebuyck (19/20) and the Jets 2-1 in a shootout.  With how much Bob has struggled lately, I wouldn’t be surprised if Tarasov gets a few more starts before the Olympic break.  I’d stream Tarasov outside of bad matchups.

Jake Sanderson – Two assists with three shots.  Very steady #2 in 12’ers.  Given that he’s still only 23 years old, Sanderson still has plenty of room to grow.

Steven Stamkos – Hat trick on four shots with four PIM.  Stamkos is only three goals behind last season’s total now.  It’s great to see him thriving again after last season’s struggles.  Stamkos is a bottom end hold now.

Ryan O’Reilly – Three assists with a shot.  RoR is sitting at a point per game now.  Even with the poor shot rate, it’s a no brainer hold.

Luke Evangelista – Two assists.  Evangelista is becoming a bit of an analytics darling.  He’s a solid streamer bordering on an elite one as long as he’s with Forsberg and RoR.

Anthony Mantha – Two goals on three shots.  Very good season for Mantha so far.  He’s a solid streamer.

Justin Brazeau – Two assists with a shot.  Brazeau has provided a lot more than anticipated when he moved from Minnesota to Pittsburgh, his third team in two years.  He’s down on the third line now, so it’s only bottom end streamer level.

Jack St. Ivany – Two assists for the second straight game.  He’s not going to provide many points, but St. Ivany is piling up hits and is decent in blocks, so there’s some deep league streaming value.  Welcome to the Razzball Database!

Lucas Raymond – Two goals on three shots.  The shot rate keeps Raymond from fantasy superstardom, but he’s still a borderline top 50 player.  Very similar to Suzuki.

Mats Zuccarello – Two goals and an assist.  Zucc is a clear hold everywhere.  He’s playing insane minutes right now with…

Kirill Kaprizov – Two goals and an assist with eight shots.  Kaprizov only had one goal in the previous nine games.  He also had two posts on top of the two goals today as he was buzzing throughout the game.  Impending heater coming.

Quinn Hughes – Three assists with three shots.  Hughes is due for some goals with all of the shots he’s getting, but either way, he has 22 assists in 20 games with the Wild.  Pretty, pretty good.

That’s all for now guys.  As mentioned above, I’ll be back on Monday with an updated hold/stream list.  As always, feel free to ask any questions, leave any comments, or give any suggestions below.  Thanks for reading, take care!

Gotta be Sennecke for one, Right Viz? I have him but I’m also looking at these guys plus Ridley Grieg and Sharangovich who both have 2 games left. I used JVR for the end of last week and so far this week but time to make some moves.
