I hope everyone had a great Holiday weekend!  Reid and I are back with the final podcast of 2016 recapping the action from the last week.  We start off with our usual injury rundown before we hit a few of the hot topics.  Notables among those topics are the dearth of quality fantasy defensemen, Charlie Coyle‘s big weekend, Evander Kane‘s hot December, the possible resurgence of John Klingberg and whether or not we should care about Justin Williams.  After that, we break down Thursday’s big slate of games before we close things with the Three Point Challenge.  All of that and more on this week’s edition of the Razzball Hockey Podcast!

Thursday Streamers:

Jason Zucker (18.8%) – He’s as hot as his team with 9 points in his last 10 games and gets a great matchup against the Islanders.

Tanner Pearson (15.0%) – He scored last night with five shots and his linemate is my pick for three points tonight (spoiler alert!).  Great spot for him against the Oilers to extend his point streak.

Radek Faksa (4.1%) – Faksa has moved into the top six and has delivered with 4 points in his last 6 games and 4 shots in each of the last 3 games.  That’s plenty going against the Avalanche.

Which backup goalie do you prefer?

    Montoya @Fla
    Raanta @Ari

@Scott: Definitely Raanta, the Rangers are a much bigger favorite to get the win because Arizona is one of the two worst teams in the league.

    Tonight, do you

    Brian Boyle vs Tor
    or
    Anthony Mantha @Ott

@Scott: Mantha, he’s just a better player than Boyle and Boyle takes a hit with Kucherov and others back. The top line played huge minutes last night.

    Sit 2 tonight-
    JT Miller @ AZ
    Kadri @ TBL
    Backes @ BUF
    Tkachuck vs ANH
    E Kane vs BOS
    Trocheck vs MON

Also, should I be considering dropping JT Miller for Granlund/Arvidsson/Tkachuck ?
(Just picked up Tkachuck to stream) Miller hasn’t been producing and seems to be out of the top 6.

@distant_station: I would sit Miller and then the other comes down to what stats you’re looking for. I would lean towards sitting Kadri with the other spot. And yes, I would probably drop Miller at this point for really any of those guys; choose which one depending on what you need (Granlund assists and +/-, Arvidsson goals and shots, Tkachuk PIM and blend of the rest).

Pure gut call from the Caps power play, John Carlson for three

Barkov out indefinitely. He was on fire, so that’ll be a big loss for my team.
    Lehner vs Boston
    Gibson vs Calagary
    Vasilevskiy vs Leafs
Star two, I’m leading in wins, losing sv% and gaa (and by a lot too) so really just looking to pad my win total.
I know I should probably start Vasilevskiy, but I’m a leafs fan so it’s hard to do lol.

Haven’t been able to listen yet, not sure who you picked but let’s go with Hoffman

@Quick Sycamore: I’d sit Lehner if going for a win but it’s close with Vasilevskiy. I like the spot for Gibson, id play him for sure

@Viz: Time made the decision on Lehner for me it seems. But yeah I’ve got gibson in for sure. At least this way I can hope the leafs win lol
