We had to make up for the time off so Reid joins me once again for the second consecutive day!  The show starts with each of us bringing up three different things we took away from Tuesday’s games.  Among the notables are Columbus’ shaky play, how good Brent Burns is, an underrated Shark and Jack Eichel.  Afterwards, we start some dynasty talk.  Each of us talks about our top two tiers for the long term along with about 10 players that we could see taking a big jump next season.  From there, we have a detailed discussion about Thursday’s massive 13 game slate before making our Three Point Challenge picks.  At the end, there’s a quick preview of this weekend’s All Star game.  All of that and more on this All-Star edition of the Razzball Hockey Podcast brought to you by Draft, SeatGeek and FanPicks!

With 13 games on the slate tonight, I doubt there are any need for streamers.  If you do need someone, ask in the comments section and I’ll get back to you. Also, make your Three Point Challenge picks below.

I Loved the podcast i will comment more about the dynasty stuff this days (busy right now) I just want to throw out my three point challenge pick and some questions for tonight.
For the 3Point challenge. I really wanted to pick my guy Benn but Reid took him so if it’s not allowed I’m going with Scheifele as i hope that the Laine comeback can bring some more energy and goals to WPG.

    My 2 Questions:
1st Should i start Backes or Spezza tonight important categories are Pts (G,A doesnt really matter) +/- PIM. I like Backes generally more for his PIM potential but i think Spezza has the better matchup.
2nd I’m still in the matchup against Bob Greiss and Luongo (maybe you remember it i asked you this week already :D). My Matchup is going on next week so i have no stress.
    Right now the stats are
    Opponent:1W 3.25GAA 80SVs .899SV%
    ME: 1W 1.85GAA 35SVs .946SV%
I think i will start Dubnyk (as usual) tonight i have also Darling. I’m absolutely not sure what to do with him. Obviously he was great but i think the Jets can light it up (watch my 3Pt Pick 😀 ) What do you think would you start darling or would you try to go the safe way and bench him.

@Saints: no you’re fine with benn, just Reid and I can’t pick the same.

Considering +/- is a factor too, id play spezza.

Yeah I remember, I guess you didn’t play lehtonen huh? Not the end of the world. I would lean towards playing Darling just because the Hawks are pretty big favorites in the game and I’d hate to throw away a good chance at a win this early in a matchup

@Saints: I see your other comment now about Lehtonen

    Who should I start?
Bob @ Nashville or Hellebuyck @ Chicago

@distant_station: Sorry I missed this, it was a little after I looked. I probably would have went with Bob even though Hellboy was the right play.

@Viz: No worries, it was kind of last minute. I ignored my gut and played Bob… sorry gut.

Hmmmm I tried using my tablet to comment and it says awaiting moderation. Looks like I didn’t use the right login. Anyway, let’s go with Sheary.

Sure Vasilevskiy, Bishop comes back so start stringing together some solid games……so frustrating.

@Quick Sycamore: That’s for sure. I can’t figure out either of those guys anymore

    Hey Viz,

I picked up Buchnevich due to the hype surrounding him, however there’s some other fa’s available.

    E. Kane, Turris, Anders Lee, M koivu, or Burakovsky.

Should I keep Buch or take one of the above?

I don’t really have any position needs and it’s standard scoring in a redraft league

@Fleeced: Hey man, as much as I like the Butcher, I’d drop him for Kane. He’s been incredible lately and the shots plus PIM boost are too good to pass up IMO.

Better late than never now i have a little bit time to write something about the dynasty 🙂
First of all Thank you for this little talk about dynasties i pretty enjoyed it.
The guys you mentioned are obviously all owned so i think it could be hard to get one of them because they were very high draft picks. I try my best to get one (maybe i have a chance for Buchnevich).
Still I’m glad to have Rantanen i think i will completely stash him this year in the minors (if i move him up i need to give him a 3 year contract). And i will hope i can get some reward in 1 or 2 years.
Can you think about some more “under the radar” guys “the diamond in the rough”. Who could be easier to get in a trade ?

    • Viz

@Saints: no problem at all. We will probably do more towards the end of the season. I would also stash Rantanen for the whole year.

Do you mean guys who are already in the league or guys who have recently been drafted?

      • Saints says:
        (link)

        @Viz:
Both but not the first 10-20 Picks in the last drafts more of some deeper dives where the potential isnt that obvious but you like the guy a lot 🙂
