After yesterday's post breaking down my 10 most undervalued players (you can read that here), it's time to do the ten most overvalued.  I'll be following the same format as yesterday telling you why I feel that way about each of these players.  Let's get right to it! Carey Price - A good playoffs has people believing in Price again.  I'll value the past three seasons more than a ten game sample size in the bubble.
The title says it all.  Today, I'm going to hit on the ten guys that I like most to break out this season.  With the season a week away, I won't have to time to do a ton of sleeper posts, so I decided it would be best to highlight these players and then follow it up with players I expect to disappoint this season in tomorrow's post.  Let's get to it!
One of my favorite things to read and write about is the failures of the rankings of popular sports websites.  Every year, I'm excited to read Grey destroying the rankings of ESPN, Yahoo, etc.  Well, normally I spend my time crucifying ESPN, but they changed their rankings to reflect a point system that is absolutely atrocious.  Additionally, their projections are so bad that if you need a laugh, I highly suggest checking them out.  Maybe you think Max Domi will magically play 140 games too, or that Robert Thomas won't play a game this season!  The point projections are completely out of whack as well.  Instead, I'm going to focus on the consensus rankings of the Yahoo! staff, and show you where their downfalls are so you can exploit them if you draft on their website.  Let's get to it!
With no exhibition games this season, it's going to be harder to predict what lines and pairing teams are going to use.  Thankfully, there are some coaches, such as Ralph Krueger in Buffalo, who made it clear from Day 1 of practices who would be playing together.  In this post, I'm going to hit on some notable decisions around the league and how they impact fantasy hockey.  Let's get to it!
We're moving to the last part of my rankings before my top 200 list today with the second part of the forward rankings.  You can read part one here.  I'm going to go about this part of the rankings a bit different than usual.  I'm going to do a "best of the rest" section to start off, then I'm going to break down the rest of the forwards into three categories: safe, upside, and specialists.  Once you get through the "best of the rest" forwards, we'll be well past the top 100 overall, so at that point in the draft, you need to be targeting what you need.  Therefore, following a strict rankings list wouldn't really be the best thing you could do for your team.  Obviously ask any questions you have in the comments section, but I suspect that this help quite a bit in the later parts of drafts as a supplement to my top 200 list.  Let's get to it!
It's time to get rolling with my fantasy hockey rankings.  Instead of starting with my top 10 and going from there, I'm going to be starting with goaltenders today, defensemen Tuesday, and then forwards and my top 200 by the end of the week.  I will be ranking the guys in order, but I am putting more focus on tiers than the exact rankings of players.  I will be writing in detail about guys that I aggressive with in my rankings, either because I like them a lot or also don't want anything to do with them.  Let's get to it!
The time has come!  The NHL has reached an agreement to start a 56 game season on January 13th.  You know what that means!?  Fantasy hockey is back!  I'm returning once again as your Razzball hockey writer and I wanted to give a schedule for what's going to happening in this space over the next couple weeks before the season starts.
It's seemed inevitable for the past few days, but on Thursday, it officially happened.  The NHL has suspended play indefinitely due to COVID-19.  It absolutely had to be done in order to try and limit exposure to players, staff, fans, etc.  So where does that leave the league, my writing here, and people around the world?  I'm going to hit on a few things below.
It's hard to believe that Filip Forsberg recently had a 20 game goalless streak.  He had his best game in months on Tuesday scoring two goals and an assist with five shots and two PIM.  The thing that excites me most is that Forsberg played 20 minutes in this game.  Forsberg is clearly the best forward on the team and it has been infuriating that his minutes have been down, slump or not.  The playoff schedule for the Predators is excellent (you can read up on that here) giving Forsberg the opportunity to be a top 20 player down the stretch.  I don't expect that, but he has that kind of upside.  The Predators are making their playoff push and it's the time for Forsberg to get his season back on track.  Let's take a look at what else happened over the last two nights:
