It’s not too often that a goalie gives up more goals than he makes saves, especially playing a full period. Hunter Miska, come on down! The good news for Colorado is they have a ton of firepower and they still managed to win by four goals after allowing four in the first. Nazem Kadri led the charge scoring two goals and two assists with six shots and two PIM. That brings Kadri to 24 points in 27 games, strong PIM, and an elite shot rate. We’re looking at a potential top 50 season from Kadri for his total statline. That trade could not have worked out any better for Colorado and we’re benefiting from it in fantasy. The way Colorado is playing at the moment, I’m expecting a big run from them as they look to get healthy this week, and Kadri should be a big part of it. Let’s take a look at what else happened over the last two days:
Adam Henrique – Goal and two assists with two shots. Despite scoring three points in the first period, Henrique only played 12:39. He’s stuck as a bottom end streamer.
Troy Terry – Goal and an assist with two shots. Friedman has talked about Terry potentially being traded which is a bit surprising. It could help Terry’s fantasy value quite a bit as he’s a bottom end streamer at best.
Devon Toews – Three assists with two shots. Toews has been very good across the board. Even with Makar returning, Toews is an easy hold in all formats.
Andre Burakovsky – Goal and an assist with two shots. I’m not going to hit on every Colorado player who had 2+ points as almost half of their forwards did, but having watched this game, Burakovsky really stood out. He’s right on the fringe right now. I lean towards elite streamer, but can go either way.
Brandon Montour – Two assists. Montour has been terrible since going to Buffalo. Maybe there’s a boost if he’s moved at the deadline (he better be), but for now, easy pass.
Dan Vladar – 34 saves on 35 shots in the 2-1 win over the Penguins. Nice way to get your first career win. He’ll be back in the minors soon enough, but look at this save!

Ilya Samsonov – 21 saves on 22 shots in the 3-1 win over the Islanders. Here’s to hoping Samsonov can stay healthy in the second half of the season because the upside is quite high.
Alex Ovechkin – Goal and an assist with two shots. Congrats to Ovechkin for moving into sixth place all time in goals. He’s been outstanding as always.
Nicklas Backstrom – Goal and an assist with two shots. I was expecting a step back from Backstrom, but he looks rejuvenated after playing so few games from March to January.
Filip Hronek – Goal and two assists with two shots. I knew I should have taken Hronek in the three point challenge! He actually has eight points in the last four games. If you can stomach the plus-minus, he’s worth holding.
Adam Erne – Two goals on six shots. Erne has seven points in the past nine games and getting big minutes now. I liked him as a prospect, but he never got much of a chance in Tampa Bay. I’d only use him in deep leagues right now, but that could change.
Dylan Larkin – Two assists with two shots. Larkin is worth holding but it’s closer to the fringe than I expected it.
Kaapo Kahkonen – 31 save shutout in the 3-0 win over the Wild. Kahkonen has been fabulous this year. I’d hold him and Talbot both right now as the Wild have been great.
Brayden Point – Goal and an assist with five shots. Point is right at a point per game and really jumped his shot rate towards three per game. He’s proven to be a true superstar.
Joe Pavelski – Two assists with two shots and two PIM. Pavelski looked done during last regular season, then completely blew up in the bubble and has carried that into this season. I don’t think he’ll shoot 23% all season, but he’ll be an easy hold even with regression.
Jamie Benn – Goal and an assist with four shots. Benn has been a plus across the board making him a step past the fringe and a clear hold.
Miro Heiskanen – Goal and an assist with five shots. So disappointed with Heiskanen this season, but I’m still holding him because of the upside.
Jason Robertson – Two assists with a shot. Solid streamer; Robertson has looked better than I expected as a rookie.
Bo Horvat – Goal and an assist with two shots. Horvat’s stat line is nothing exciting, but it’s enough to stay a hold.
Alexandar Georgiev – 26 save shutout in the 9-0 win over the Flyers. Nine goals! Apparently the Rangers needed all of their coaches in COVID protocol to have them blow up. I still have no faith in Goergiev going forward.
Mika Zibanejad – Hat trick and three assists with four shots. Finally! I’d have started off with him today, but I knew I wouldn’t have as much time tonight so I wrote the Kadri bit ahead of time. Anyways, Zibanejad has been arguably the biggest disappointment of the season, but this could start to get the ball rolling. Zibanejad is prone to going on massive heaters so hopefully this kicks one off for those of you that have been patient with him.
Pavel Buchnevich – Two goals and two assists with three shots. Buchnevich was hot before this game and now has 14 points in the past 10 games. Easy hold in all formats.
Ryan Strome – Two assists with two shots. With Artemi Panarin (goal and an assist) back on Strome’s wing, I would hold Strome again and don’t think it’s that close.
Jacob Trouba – Goal and an assist with two shots. I had higher hopes for Trouba once he arrived in New York, but he hasn’t been used in an offensive role. I’d leave him on the waiver wire outside of deep leagues for hits and blocks.
Brendan Gallagher – Goal and an assist with three shots. The minutes are lower than I’d like from Gallagher, especially because of how well he drives play at even strength. That said, he’s still a no brainer hold in all formats.
Phillip Danault – Goal and an assist. Starting to show signs of life, but still don’t want to stream him.
Pierre-Luc Dubois – Three assists with three shots. Nikolaj Ehlers had a goal and an assist with two shots while Kyle Connor scored two goals on seven shots. Dubois hasn’t found consistency yet, but the other two have. It’s hard for the third person on the line to not do well when the other two are playing at a superstar level. I’m buying Dubois for the rest of the season.
Tyson Barrie – Four assists with four shots. You’re starting to make me look like a smart man Mr. Barrie! And for that, I thank you.
Leon Draisaitl – Three assists with a shot. Connor McDavid had a goal and two assists. These guys never stop.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins – Goal and an assist with three shots. The lines keep shuffling for Edmonton which can leave RNH on the outside looking in of playing with the big two. However, he’s an easy hold either way because of the top PP time.
Darnell Nurse – Goal and an assist. Absolute monster season from Nurse.
Jesse Puljujarvi – Goal and an assist. He’s not with the big two right now so Puljujarvi a middling streamer.
Matthew Tkachuk – Two assists with two shots. His shooting percentage is far below his career norms which makes Tkachuk a good candidate to take a step forward next season.
Cal Petersen – 19 saves on 20 shots in the 4-1 win over the Blues. Petersen needs to be owned in all leagues… in two weeks. Four of their next six games are against Vegas which would be a pretty big gamble to start Petersen in those games. There are two Sharks games in the middle where he’s worth streaming, but April shapes up pretty much for Petersen.
Anze Kopitar – Goal and an assist with three shots. It’s a shame that the Kings are in the West division because it’s pretty unlikely they’ll make the playoffs. Kopitar would be in the conversation to be a Hart finalist otherwise.
Drew Doughty – Goal and an assist with two shots and two PIM. I’m still in disbelief that Doughty has been this good in fantasy.
Trevor Moore – Goal and an assist with three shots. And there’s your annual Trevor Moore update!
Jaret Anderson-Dolan – Two assists. JAD has seven points in seven games (this was his first game back). I’m not really buying it, but I’m keeping an eye on him.
Evander Kane – Goal and two assists with five shots. Kane is playing at a level we haven’t seen from him before. He’s pushing towards being a top 25 player.
Tomas Hertl – Two assists with a shot and five PIM. It’s fringy for Hertl, but I lean towards holding.
Mario Ferraro – Goal and an assist with three shots. Karlsson’s return has zapped Ferraro’s fantasy value.
Shea Theodore – Goal and two assists with six shots. It’s been a while since Theodore had a big game so this was great to see. He’s on a five game point streak and looks to easily be a #1D by the end of the season.
Tomas Nosek – Two assists with a shot. Nothing for fantasy.
Three Point Challenge: We’ll do it again for Thursday’s games. No top 10 in scoring which means no McDavid, Draisaitl, Kane, Marner, Scheifele, Matthews, Huberdeau, Barkov, Kopitar, and Stone. I’ll go with Pastrnak against the Sabres.
