Hey guys!  I hope everyone is still alive in their fantasy hockey seasons.  In lieu of daily notes, I’m going to preview Monday’s games since at this point in the season, I’m not sure daily notes will serve much purpose.  Depending on feedback (please give some!), I will continue to do this over the last two weeks of the season or I will return to daily notes.  I am going to focus solely on the games, so if you want to plan ahead past today, use my playoff schedule breakdown here to help yourself out.  You can always ask me any questions you have as well.  Let’s get to it!

Ottawa @ Carolina:

These two teams just played on Saturday and the Hurricanes won 5-2.  In the last two weeks, every Carolina game has had at least six goals, while the majority of Senators games have been high scoring.  This is a really nice game to target guys to stream because both teams play again on Tuesday.  I think for Carolina guys, I would target Valentin Zykov first.  The prospect has back to back two point games, and now has a power play role.  I also expect the minutes to increase because Carolina has nothing to play for.  I would definitely fade both goalies.

Panthers @ Islanders:

This game has a massive over-under total of 6.5 goals.  With the Panthers battling to make the playoffs and the Islanders in a tailspin, you have to like the Panthers in this spot.  Nick Bjugstad would be my first choice if he happens to be available in your league.  Otherwise, Frank Vatrano is my target in this plus matchup.  Anthony Beauvillier is the only Islander I would consider.  You’d have to pay me to consider using whoever the Islanders start in net.  I don’t hate using the Florida goalie (presumably Roberto Luongo) since I like their chances to win, but there is massive risk.

Sabres @ Maple Leafs

The Sabres have looked awful lately (even more than usual) so expect Toronto to run wild on them tonight.  Whoever starts in net for Toronto (I’m guessing McElhinney but just a guess) is the #1 goalie play of the day.  If Curtis McElhinney gets the start, he’s an incredible streamer.  The tough thing is that most of Toronto’s guys are must own players or unusable.  The one streamer in play among their forwards is Tyler Bozak if you want some assists.  If Sam Reinhart is available in your league, he’s a viable streamer, but he’s the only Sabre.  Don’t even consider using however starts in net.

Red Wings @ Canadiens

This game is massive… for lottery positioning.  Brendan Gallagher is killing it lately and as a long time fan of his, I love him in this game.  Alex Galchenyuk is a nice streamer as well.  The Red Wings are so bad right now that I’m not sure I’d use anyone.  I don’t mind using either goalie in this game, whoever that may be, as it might end up being quite the snoozer.

Capitals @ Rangers

Despite being out of the race, the Rangers are playing decent hockey.  Most of that is coming from their top line which is hotter than a pistol right now.  Chris Kreider is available in over 50% of leagues so he’s an excellent streamer.  Neal Pionk also should be in consideration if you need some assists.  AAGNOF!  I would not trust Alexandar Georgiev, and I will forever be bitter about him ruining my fantasy season with his big game against the Sabres Saturday.  The Capitals are obviously a different animal.  Philipp Grubauer will probably get the start and should be used in every game going forward.  As far as streamers for the Caps going, the only real guy is Tom Wilson.  He could get you off to a big lead in penalty minutes and is also scoring at a decent enough rate.

Coyotes @ Lightning

Arizona has closed the season well, but with the Atlantic Division up for grabs, we should see Tampa’s best game.  Obviously start whoever is in net for Tampa, presumably Andrei Vasilevskiy.  The unfortunate thing is that everyone that is worth a damn on Tampa right now is owned, so there really isn’t a streamer option.  I suppose I don’t mind taking a shot on Anthony Cirelli if you do want a piece of the Lightning tonight.  I think we see Antti Raanta going back into the crease, but obviously it’s a huge risk starting him in Tampa.  I’m fading their guys as streamers, but if one of their top guys is available, you can go with it.

Sharks @ Blackhawks

The Sharks have the longest winning streak in the league right now while the Blackhawks are trending in the opposite direction.  Tomas Hertl is a great streaming option and I don’t mind using Timo Meier either.  Whoever starts in net for the Sharks is a great option.  For Chicago, I wouldn’t even consider using their goalie.  I don’t mind using Alex DeBrincat for his upside but it’s not the best spot.

Avalanche @ Golden Knights

This is a rematch of Saturday’s thriller with Semyon Varlamov and Marc-Andre Fleury stealing the show.  Vegas clinches with a point so expect T-Mobile Arena to be rocking.  Use whoever is in net for Vegas (presumably Fleury) while Tomas Tatar is the best streamer of their bunch.  This looks like a game to fade Varlamov, but we know he has massive upside.  Use him at your own risk.  I don’t think there’s anyone on Colorado worth streaming.

Flames @ Kings

The Flames don’t even look like they’re trying now that their season is over.  The Kings are in a massive playoff battle, so I’m expecting a beatdown here.  I wouldn’t use anyone on Calgary outside of the top guys.  Tanner Pearson and Adrian Kempe are nice streaming options while Jonathan Quick or Jack Campbell will be among the best options of the night.

That’s all for now guys.  If you could leave me some feedback on this, I would greatly appreciate it.  I am willing to add to what I currently have (perhaps ranking best overall streamers at the end?) or scrap it altogether if people don’t like it.  As always, feel free to ask any questions or leave any other comments below.  I will be back on Tuesday with a topic to be determined based on that feedback.  Thanks for reading, take care!
