Hello everyone!  Reid joins me once again to provide another update around the NHL.  We start off by looking at Carolina’s big game against the Caps, the Wild’s first line dominating while the Stars top line starts doing what we expected from them.  After ripping NBC before, we give credit where it’s due before we talk about Gary Bettman and the NHL from a big picture point of view. We then ponder what the Las Vegas team name will be, question why Antoine Roussel is still widely available, a red hot Pekka Rinne and Filip Forsberg finally scoring.  Finally, around the 35 minute mark, we look at the Sabres and Avalanche, the two worst offenses in the league at this point, before I try to stump Reid giving him “Who am I?” clues.  As always, we conclude with the Three Point Challenge.  All of that and more in the newest edition of the Razzball Fantasy Hockey Podcast!

Please make your Three Point Challenge picks in the comments section of this post.  Any questions or comments, you can leave them here or in the new daily notes post that is already up on the website here.

  1. Bergeron’s linemates (Pastrnak & Marchand) are among the most productive players in the league, and yet Bergeron, is struggling out of the gate. There have been some injury issues but overall is this just an odd run of bad luck? Bergeron is a proven stud, although he is a faceoff king and our league does not include those. Also, Kopitar is a high-scoring center, one of the most consistent all-around players in the league for the past few years. He only has 3 goals and eight points in 13 games this season. In our scoring format; G 3, A 2, PIM 0.5, PPG 2, PPA 1, SOG 0.5, HIT 1, DEF 0.5. Which is the better choice to roll with? There are 2 CENTER slots & 1 UTIL in our line-ups and I already have Seguin, Kuznetsov & Kopitar that play only C, plus Eichel on IR. Then I have 4 guys with C eligibility, plus LW or RW. I see someone dropped Bergeron in our 10 teamer, but I’m already C heavy. The way Kuznetsov has been playing, I should drop him for Bergeron, but I know the talent is there if he would start shooting. Another slow starter… Thanks Viz!

      @madden_curser: Well a lot of that is those 2 had 5 points each in the opener against CBus that Bergeron didn’t play in. I don’t have any doubts that he will turn it around. I’m much more concerned about Kopitar simply because his linemates are horrible. Kuznetsov has been extremely frustrating as well, I’m worried about him than Bergeron but not as much as Kopitar. I really don’t know what I’d do in your shoes. Maybe I’d just drop Kuz but I’d feel a bit guilty doing it.

    I have it from a highly credible source that the new team will be called the Las Vegas Chicken Ranchers followed closely by the LV Cousin Eddies

    My 3 point guy is Nathan MacKinnon. I’m clearly always going with the long shots and always the guys on my teams. It’s a cry for help

    Patrick Laine for the 3 point challenge.

    Are all players elligible?

      @No Avatar: No, they have to be outside of the top 10 in the league in points per game. Laine is outside of the top 10 so that works; good luck!

        @Viz:

        Awesome. I don’t see them torching the Blackhawks but it was the first name that popped into my head. Probably because I’ve been trying so hard to trade for him.

    Burns tonight for 3

  7. Viz, my LW eligible players are; Milan Lucic, Galchenyuk, Panarin, Filip Forsberg & Pastrnak. Only 2 LW slots, plus Util. Some of these guys are C eligible too though. Zach Parise off IR today, so need to drop one to activate. Lucic? G 3, A 2, PIM 0.5, PPG 2, PPA 1, SOG 0.5, HIT 1, DEF 0.5. Thanx for your insight.

      @madden_curser: Yeah, I think it has to be. I know he gets the hits points but shots are horrible and he’s outside of the top 6 at the moment. The others are in a class above him IMO.

    Man bishop is totally murdering my strategy… I have dubnyk and bishop and just wanted to roll the 2 of them but I am losing faith in bishop. I have been streaming my last 2 bench spots based on schedule because there is a lot of talent on my ww… I feel at this point though I need to pick up vasilevskiy because I’m worried him and bishop will start splitting time…

    What should I do in this case? Is it worth it to keep vasil and then still stream my last 2 slots? Lowest guy on the chopping block would be Schwartz… (I’m streaming sheary and vrbata tomorrow) my other bench forwards are marches Tyler Johnson possibly Kadri but I like how he is valuable across all catagories… my other option is to lose a stream slot and drop vrbata after tomorrow’s game for vasil…

    Thanks bro I’m at a loss on this one since I thought bishop was a lock
