EVERYBODY PANIC!  Just kidding, you can relax.  Reid and I are back discussing a variety of topics.  We start off by running down all of the latest injuries around the league before looking at the latest news throughout the NHL, mostly from Tuesday’s games.  Around the 30 minute mark, we get to the panic meter.  We look at around 20 marquee players at various positions and give a rating from 1 to Cedric Daniels’ eyes when Prezbo punched out Valchek on how worried we are about the lack of production through the first 20% of the season. It’s actually from 1-1o but any excuse to show that picture! As always, we close things out with The Three Point Challenge.  Be sure to get your picks in via the comment section below.  All of that and more in the latest edition of the Razzball Hockey Podcast!

Thursday Streamers – Smaller slate than usual on Thursday with 10 games on the docket.  Here are my top 3 streamers:

Vladislav Namestnikov (6.3%) – I know Steven Stamkos is out but Nikita Kucherov is still on fire and if anything, the injury guarantees more minutes for Namestnikov.  He’s playing well and the Sabres, well aren’t.

Tyler Bozak (12.6%) – I don’t love the spot against Florida but Bozak, as discussed on the podcast, is hotter than a pistol right now.  Definitely the best source of assist streaming tonight.

Marko Dano (1.1%) – I’m going back to the guys I like tonight.  Dano had another point against the Blackhawks on Tuesday and I expect the Jets – Flyers game tonight to be a wide open, high scoring affair.  I’ll take an extra piece of guys in this game with Dano.

    My 3 point grab is another stretch but if I’m going to win this, I’m going to win alone! Sticking with a theme…I’m taking Marty Moose Hanzal (1g 2a). Go Yotes!

      @Rob: Haha I like it. Good spot for the Desert Dogs… Good luck!

    Hellebuyck or Loungo? Redraft league. I also have Crawford and vasileskiy

      @Ben lewis: I still think I’d have to go with Luongo. It’s a little closer if your league counts saves but either way I’d still give Luongo the benefit of the doubt.

    I am new to fantasy hockey and would just like a gut check on the typical frequency of injuries you have to deal with – I drafted:

    Quick (out indef)
    Kane (back finally)
    Eichel (still out)
    Letang (expected but . . . )
    Stamkos (WTF?!)

    Am I unlucky or is this typical?

    • Viz

      Viz says:

      @Mr. Rickey: That is extremely rare; it’s been a brutal start for injuries and you’ve been hit by a bunch of the main ones. Sorry 🙁

    Mark Scheifele for the 3-pt challenge, Viz.

    • Viz

      @Scott: You can’t take him, he’s in the top 10 (5th overall in per game)

    With Taylor Hall out 4-6 weeks, and Patrick Sharp about to be cleared for contact, would you recommend dropping Hall for Sharp?

    • Viz

      Viz says:
      (link)

      @Scott: No I’d definitely hold Hall, it sounds more like 3-4 weeks but regardless you can’t cut bait with a top 30 player

  6. Man Of Steel says:

    Marner for 3 point challenge.

    What are your toughts on Sheary for Teravinen, high end streamers?

    • Man Of Steel says:
      (link)

      @Man Of Steel: I am going with Eaves for 3 point challenge not Marner.

      • Viz

        Viz says:

        Alright sounds good with Eaves. Yeah I think that’s right for both at the moment. I could see Sheary turning into a hold at times and right now he’s closer but I’d still prefer to stream him if possible.

      @Man Of Steel:

      Man i wanted to talk about Sheary also… I watched the game yesterday and he was very exciting to watch when he had the puck, plus he is playing with Crosby. I’m hoping he gets back on the score sheet vs the islanders tomorrow cuz Im streaming that 🙂

      • Man Of Steel says:
        (link)

        @Shitwolf: I have Sheary and Fabbri in a 8 team league and will need to drop one. Looks like Sheary is on 1st line with Crosby and 2nd PP line. The Pens 2nd PP line does not get a lot of minutes though.

        • Shitwolf says:
          (link)

          @Man Of Steel:

          they are both streamers in an 8 team league, just go based on appearances is what I would do

          • Man Of Steel says:
            (link)

            @Shitwolf: Thanks you are probably right. I only have one more move left this week so I have to cut one. But going forward they are probably both streamers in such a shallow league.

        @Viz: Uhh can I change it to Benn instead? Just saw Rinne is back, I was thinking his back-up would get eaten up in Ottawa.

    For many years now at the Tampa Bay Lightning Garden the Stammer has been the biggest and most beautiful flower. The next flower in line, the Tyjo, could only grow so much, while having to spend time in Stammer’s shadow. This all changed one day, likely November 15th 2016, when some clumsy oaf from Detroit stepped on the Stammer and broke its stem! The Garden Manager, GM for short, Steve Yzerman knew not to panic like other GMs might. After finding out it would take 4-6 months for the broken stem to mend, he made an adjustment to the garden adding Tyjo to the first row. Tyjo was now free of the shadow to grow into the flower we all know he can be and will score 3 points tonight.

    Tyjo for 3 points please….

    I would like to personally talk to the GM, however, of the TBLG about that weed Vasilevskiy who keeps trying to cut off playing time from my fucking 2nd round pick Goalie flower

      @Shitwolf:

      oh also who would you like to put some points up tonight Schenn or Marchessault? Im thinking March at T.O

    • Fungazi says:
      (link)

      @Shitwolf: your second round flower has dried up my man

    • Viz

      Viz says:
      (link)

      Hahaha thanks for the laugh! I thought about Johnson myself, good luck! Man, those two guys are close you can go either way. I marginally lead Schenn because I think this game is a great spot for the Flyers to win a high scoring game against the Jets but there’s certainly nothing wrong with playing Marchessault, the margins are so small here.

      • Shitwolf says:
        (link)

        @Viz:
        was thinking I could use my lw depth to upgrade my team have schenn marches Sault Schwartz and ehlers. Could offer maybe schenn and Krug for byfuglin. Owner of byf has injury issued and that may work? Good idea?

        • Viz

          Viz says:
          (link)

          @Shitwolf: Yeah I can get behind that.

  9. Quick Sycamore says:
