Reid joins me as always to discuss some goaltending situations around the NHL.  We look at St. Louis, Carolina, Chicago, San Jose, Colorado, and Philadelphia looking at their recent developments for fantasy hockey.  What will Chicago do with Corey Crawford out indefinitely?  Can Carter Hutton become the #1 for the Blues?  These questions and plenty more with the other teams are all examined.  From there, we make some early trade deadline talk before make our picks for the Three Point Challenge.  Be sure to make your picks in the comments section below along with any suggestions, comments or questions.  All of that and more in the latest edition of the Razzball Hockey Podcast!

    Viz!

Felling like I want to sell Voracek high. I had him when he went off for 81 points a few years back and then he had an off year. I’m in a keeper – where do you see him in a normal year as he appears to be volatile.

Would you deal him for Pastrnak straight up?

    Thanks

      Hey LG,

I feel like Voracek is probably in the 65-70 point normally, give or take a few points either side. That obviously makes him very valuable given the PIM and PPP. This year seems like the perfect storm again. I guess it depends a little bit how good your team is now but I’d prefer Pastrnak over Voracek. Pastrnak is still only 21 years old and has plenty of room for improvement despite being an excellent player already. Voracek might be marginally better at the moment but it’s close; Pastrnak will pass him sooner than later, so give me the much younger guy in this scenario.

Thanks Viz – I agree. Are you able to give me a few players to target similar to Pastrnak that you think I may be able to ship Voracek for? Tough question I know but I really want to sell Voracek for a great young player if I can

    Thanks
    LG

@LG Hockey: The tough part is that a lot of the guys that are similar to Pastrnak in fantasy have such big time name recognition that I don’t think you’d be able to swap them. Laine and Pastrnak aren’t that far off, for example, at least at this point in their career in fantasy, but I can’t see someone trading Laine where they might trade Pastrnak. I’d say a guy like Forsberg would make a lot of sense too, he was the first one that came to my mind. Having a hard time thinking of others that make sense straight up to be honest. Maybe if you can get a smaller piece with say, Ehlers or guys of that ilk, that could work as well.
