Below is my list of the Top 200 players for this season.  I’ll have a post on Friday with bold predictions from JKJ and myself.  There’s a couple things I’d like to mention before I start the list.  One, I’m not drafting Jack Eichel.  The whole situation is a mess that I don’t want anything to do with it.  I’m also out on Evander Kane.  Maybe if he fell very late, but somebody else can deal with that headache.  There are some small tweaks to the order of players within a position from my original posts as well.  Lastly, you’ll see some spots where there are a bunch of goalies bunched together.  That just gives you a general idea on when I’m targeting that position.  Without further adieu, here is my list:

And there you have it!  Please ask any questions or leave any comments below.  I hope everyone is enjoying the team previews as much as I am!  I’ll be back with bold predictions Friday.  The season is quickly upon us and I can’t wait for it to start.  Thanks for reading, take care!

Note: sorry that they are pucks and not numbers next to the players. On WordPress it is the number so not sure what is going on. Also, I forgot Josi somehow (thanks Woody) so the list is top 201 now.

Just looked at roster pages and it is showing pierre luc on the first PP. I really hope that sticks (sry to anyone owning ehlers if it does)

Really annoying because Ehlers is their best forward, yet Maurice loves to jerk him around

Did you mean to exclude Roman Josi? He was in your Top 10 D

Thank you for catching that. He should be above Barrie, I will edit it later when I get a chance.

No problem. Thank you for taking the time to put these rankings together every year. They are essential!

Of course! That’s what I’m here for. Hopefully it’s a big help once again

  3. These are awesome thank you!
What categories do you consider for these ranks?

    • Viz

      Viz says:

No problem! These do not consider hits or blocks, so you can adjust players accordingly to that. The cats I use are:
      G,A,+/-, PIM, STP, SOG
      W, GAA, SV%

This is great, but why not include the number ranks next to names? Would be much easier to make quick references in relation to numbers…

I’m trying to figure out what the issue is. I have the numbers in WordPress, but some setting that I can’t seem to find is turning the numbers into pucks. I’ll give it another shot now trying to fix it.

Ohhh, gotcha. Thanks for looking into this, Viz!

    Hi Viz,

Great job on the top 200! I had a decent draft but there was a goalie run and am very weak in net. I’m in a H2H 10 team league where we keep 6 guys forever. Categories are G, A, P, PPP, SOG, +/-, Hits and Wins, GAA, Sv % and SO. My team is:

    C – Trochek
    C – Cotourier
    LW – Svech – K
    LW – Hyman
    RW – Pasta – K
    RW – Marner – K
    D – Makar – K
    D – Hamilton – K
    D – Giordano
    D – Grzelcyk
    BN: Filip Forsberg, Bjorkstrand, Horvat
    IR – Eichel – K

    G – Khudobin
    G – Mike Smith
    BN: Nedeljkovic

I was just offered Grubauer for Hamilton but that doesn’t get me excited. Should I see how things start or rush to upgrade in net? After Vas there are a lot of question marks in net. Let me know if you see anything else to consider with this team.

    Thanks!
    LG

Man, your team is so stacked offensively. I think I’d wait for a bit to see what happens. I think that trade is too much of a value loss to plug that hole. I don’t think you need to consider anything else, you’re in a great spot and maybe something up opens up down the line, or Khudobin and Mike Smith pan out

have you drafted yet viz? If so what does ur team look like? Same for JKJ. I like the posts in the baseball section talking about who they took when and what the reasoning was 🙂

So my main league we keep 9 guys and then auction. I just had that yesterday and can respond below this later with how everything shook out. Haven’t done a snake yet. I used to do that post when I set up RCL’s, but I stopped setting them up because I was struggling to fill more than one league. To be honest, I’ve been so swamped the last month plus that I couldn’t do what I intended which is to build everything up on that side again. Hopefully next season
