I said early last week that I was going to post an updated hold/stream list today, but there’s been a change of plans.  There are only ten games total over the next four days, so I’m going to hold off on that for now.  I’ll get that posted later in the week.  Today, I’m just going to do a brief post looking at the schedule from today through Thursday and look at who I’d be trying to stream.  Let’s get to it!

Full schedule:

Monday – Jets @ Flyers, Devils @ Penguins

Tuesday – Jets @ Bruins, Sabres @ Blue Jackets, Flyers @ Rangers

Wednesday – Lightning @ Penguins, Sabres @ Stars

Thursday – Flyers @ Bruins, Rangers @ Devils, Blue Jackets @ Winnipeg

As you can see, despite there being ten games, we’re only looking at 10 different teams playing while the rest get back into action Friday or Saturday.  That makes it easy to make streaming decisions, but also places those guys on high priority.  The best teams to use are players on the Jets and Flyers since they play three games in this stretch.  This is especially true in a league where you have a max cap on moves for the season instead of by week.

For the Flyers, if Travis Konecny was available, he would be my first choice that he’s back on the first line.  If not, then I’d go with Nolan Patrick.  Patrick was starting to show signs with four goals in the three games before the break.  For deep leagues, Oskar Lindblom is worth considering.  He’s now on the second line and second power play unit.

For the Jets, it’s a bit more thin.  Bryan Little is the safe choice as he continues to center Laine on the second line.  If you wanted to gamble, I would take a chance on Jack Roslovic.  The former first round pick is high upside and with Ehlers out, he’s getting a chance with Laine and Little, along with the second power play unit.  Otherwise, it’s a bunch of long shots as the rest of the valuable Jets are >75% owned.

As for the top guys to stream on the other teams, we’re looking at the Sabres, Penguins, Bruins, Devils, Blue Jackets, and Rangers.  I give a small edge to using a Sabres player only because they have a back to back in the middle of this.  The problem is that there’s nobody on the Sabres I’d like to stream right now.  If I was forced to pick someone, it would probably be Evan Rodrigues since he’s scored in three straight, but he’s not that appealing.

The top two players overall for me are Bryan Rust and Dominik Simon.  Simon is getting another chance on the first line, while Rust has gone down to the second with Malkin and Kessel.  Rust is the clear #1 streaming option for me out of the players who play two games over these four days.  After that, it’s slim pickings.  I guess Boone Jenner would be next?  He’s centering the second line and second power play unit which is something.  If you’re lucky enough to be in a league with Jake DeBrusk available, that would be terrific.

That’s all for now guys.  I’m not sure when I’ll be back, but I’ll guess that it’ll be Wednesday with an updated hold/stream list.  As always, feel free to ask any questions, give any comments, or make any suggestions below.  Thanks for reading, take care!

Question that’s been wracking my brain the last week.
I have an open space in a H2H keeper league and am sitting in 8th place with 6 playoff spots and I’m 5 points back of 6th. My teams been on fire as of late and need one of these 2 to help get me up to 6th.
My options are Frank Vatrano or Alex Tuch. I have Hoffman already so Im worried about +/-.
Who do you think will work better for the remaining 30ish games?

@BlackTomato: I’d go with Tuch, I think he’s a safer choice with just as much upside. If you wanted to gamble on Vatrano, I would completely understand it, but Tuch has been great all season and doesn’t depend on his linemates for value. Also, Vatrano gets the hit worrying about plus-minus while Tuch should actually help you.

@Viz: Thanks man. You both reinforced my thinking I just wanted to be sure. I still don’t know how or why someone dropped Tuch but I’m going to reap the benefits of that awesome line hes on.

@BlackTomato: tuch, much higher ranked prospect, on higher line all year, frank the tank just recently moved to one. minutes are more guaranteed also. also frank the tank could WAY more likely be dropped then readded, if you drop tuch in anything but a shallow league you’ll probably not get him back.

Great post – thanks for the advice. In a 12 team H2H points redraft, would you stream JVR, N. Patrick or Little?

@Jumponit: No problem! I would go with JVR, he’s a tier above the other two.

    Hey viz,
Defenseman carousel continues. Would you take a flyer on J.Muzzin now that he’s on the buds? Other options are Ekblad, Morrissey, Faulk, Spurgeon, Brodie, C.Miller.

@Dubjay: would you trade hall for granlund?

        @Viz: @Aardvark: Definitely prefer Hall

@Dubjay: I’d still rather have Spurgeon or Morrissey (until Buff is back) over Muzzin. That could change depending on his PP role and what categories you want, but I’d lean Spurgeon.

Who would you rather have, King Henrik or Carter Hart for ROS?

My goalie categories are wins, GA, SV, SHO.

    Thanks in advance

@Det. John Kimble: I guess Lundqvist but it’s very close. Pretty much a coin flip that will come down to which team gets more wins down the stretch. I just think there’s slightly more risk with Hart’s workload than Hank’s

Hey Viz, do I trade Dub to take another Winger like Atkinson, Kreider, Wilson or Hoffman?

    Anyway
    My team is like this:

    16 team League ESPN – Scoring: G/A/PIM/PPG/PPA/SHG/SHA/FOW/FOL/HAT/SOG/HIT/BLK – H2H Non Keeper – 23 skaters (max 18 per game) – 2 Goalies (1 per game) – 5 IR spots

    I’m in 4th place

    C – Eichel, Larkin, T.Johnson, Pirri, Athanasiou

LW – Skinner, Perron, Cehlarik, Lindblom, Lehkonen

RW – Rantanen, Nylander, Sprong, Meier, Puljuljarvi

D – Hedman, Weber, C.Miller, Trouba, Martinez, Schmidt, Hanifin, Dunn

    G – Dubnyk, Bishop

    Goals worth 4 points, Assists 2, SOG 0.4, HIT 0.2, BLK 0.4

@Marco Aurélio Corrêa Cordeiro da Silva: I would have a tough time trading him because if Bishop were to go down, you’re screwed, and it hurts to have only one goalie if you can change your lineup daily. I’d say most of the time you would be slightly better off making that trade, but the times you don’t win you lose massively, so I wouldn’t do it personally.
