For all of your that play head to head leagues, I hope that you took down your title over the weekend! For those of you in roto leagues, you are still playing out the rest of the week. This post will be short for that reason, but I want to bring a few things to your attention that could help you in your push to the finish line. As a reminder, over the rest of this week, I will do a post on what went right and wrong with my rankings this season, how my bold predictions went, and then setting up a Bracket Challenge once the bracket is set. After that, my posts will be infrequent during the summer as the fantasy hockey season comes to an end. Let’s get to it!
With Dallas being eliminated from the playoffs, Roope Hintz has been shut down for the rest of the season. Remarkable season from Hintz who was well over a point per game despite playing with an injury throughout the entire season. He’ll be in the top 75 for next season at the very least. Denis Gurianov and Radek Faksa each get a boost.
Laurent Brossoit is getting the start against the Canucks on Monday and could play the rest of the regular season games with Connor Hellebuyck banged up. He’s your top streaming option if you need one while it appears Brian Elliott will start Monday as well.
The big showdown of the night is the Avalanche and the Golden Knights. Colorado needs a regulation win to have a real chance to win the division while Vegas will clinch first with any victory. Expect a playoff like atmosphere in a can’t miss game.
At the end of the week, the Wild plays the Blues twice. St. Louis is clinched into fourth, but Minnesota has an outside chance of passing Colorado if Colorado loses to Vegas. The Wild would love home ice, so if they can move up, expect an all-in performance from them.
If you need PIM, look directly at the Lightning-Panthers game. They’re locked into playing in the first round of the playoffs and their game over the weekend was a bloodbath. Tampa needs a regulation win for home ice in the playoffs, while Florida needs a point. We could get a rare scenario where the Lightning have the goalie pulled in a tie game late.
Carolina also goes to Nashville in a playoff preview. We could see a really chippy game there as well.
If you are looking for specific games to target, I’m looking at games that mean nothing to either team. Odds are that there will be some defensive lapses in a more open game. I’m looking at Flyers-Devils first and foremost with Leafs-Senators on Wednesday.
I just want to give props to McDavid for getting to 100 points with three games to spare. Absolutely insane.
That’s all for now guys. Please make any comments, leave any suggestions, or ask any questions below. There is no exact planned schedule for the rest of the week as far as what days my posts launch, but it will be either tomorrow or Wednesday next. Thanks for reading, take care!
