Hey everyone!  Reid joins me as always and after we talk about our listening demographics, we run down all of the latest injury news around the NHL and its repercussions.  Following that, we each give a few different players that we would look to buy high or sell low in fantasy hockey redrafts.  From there, we give our current winners for the NHL Awards before wrapping things up with picks for the Three Point Challenge.  As always, feel free to ask any questions or leave any comments below.  All of that and more on the latest edition of the Razzball Hockey Podcast!

        @Viz:
Havent listened to it yet. 🙂
        Will do it soon 🙂
But we were unlucky the bruins destroyed arizona but Marchand got only 2points (what a bum :D).
I should have picked a homer (player on my dynasty team) again laine got thee 3 points… but its very difficult with 3 players blocked. The good news is my team is rolling. Only my goalies are a little bit weak

deepish league, lots of injuries, horvat the worst just now (and out longest). need a center. hits/blocks in play, but no faceoffs. faksa/berglund/dubinsky/jarnkrok. faksa/berglund have much better shot rates.

    2. orpik has gone back to his elite hits/blocks. drop gudas for him here (i’ve already added orpik, but had thought i was streaming him. both 1 and 2 are dynasty league 14 teamer.

    3. 12 team keep 7 league, hits/blocks/faceoffs and points as separate category. so losing horvat means i need faceoffs here as well. plekanec, dvorak, berglund, faksa. moves (100 a year, i’m under the projected currently) limited here.

@Sinkhole Demayo: something was up with the site for hours till right before now. whatever it was didn’t effect baseball/football. seems fine now though.

@Sinkhole Demayo: Yeah, I don’t know what happened. Didn’t realize it was only effecting hockey, but that’s why there are no daily notes today, I couldn’t get into WordPress to write them.

@Sinkhole Demayo: I’d go with Faksa, I think he may have finally turned a corner.

I probably would if that’s what you need, obviously you know you’ll be lucky to get 5 points from him.

      Probably going Faksa again here.

    Viz,

Someone dropped Risto. I have Karlsson, ghost, Krug and Ekholm on D. Pick Risto up over either Krug or Ekholm?

    • Viz

      Viz says:
      (link)

@Maccer: I would lean towards grabbing him for Ekholm, mostly because Ellis is supposed to be back by the end of the month and I think that ends up hurting Ekholm’s value a ton. I talked about this situation on the podcast above. If you want to wait it out a few days if you want, I don’t have a problem with that since I might take Ekholm for the very short term, but that’s close enough you can also get Risto right now.

      • Maccer says:
        (link)

@Viz: ok thanks I’m gonna try and grab Risto as he has proven it the last few years and may be turning a corner. Plus the minutes are definitely there

@Maccer: Sounds good, no problem! The minutes are definitely there and increasing.

Can I just get an opinion on a trade that went through in my league. Crosby for trochek, thoughts?

    • Viz

      Viz says:
      (link)

@Nick: While they have been close in value to this point, there is no reason to expect Trocheck to come close to Crosby’s production. This trade is an easy veto and should not be allowed.

      • Nick says:
        (link)

@Viz: my thoughts exactly… in the the guy receiving Crosby doesn’t think you know what a veto is for. Apparently it’s only for obvious collusion – It used if you think there is some sort of side action or collusion going on, NOT if you think someone else lost in the trade, someone will always lose in a trade. The veto power is exclusively to prevent people from colluding with other owners to make one team significantly better – ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ this is what I deal with.

        • Viz

          Viz says:
          (link)

@Nick: Some people believe that for vetoes. I completely disagree. For me, if a trade is very lopsided, that has to be vetoed for the sake of the entire league. I shouldn’t get punished because someone else makes a horrible trade. This applies only to very lopsided trades, it’s not if someone simply lost the trade in my mind; if someone loses but it’s close enough, I’m not going to veto.

            (link)

@Viz: this is even more true if it’s a dynasty league, if you were to allow those types of trades the idiot owner eventually leaves a garbage roster and the league competitiveness is damaged (not to mention you might have issues even filling the crap team previously owned by that idiot).

Hellebuyck, Darling, and Jarry have been my goalies this week. Awful. Jarry had such a promising start, but then again it was agaisnt buffalo so I shouldnt have expected much.
