What do you call a 30 year old Defenseman playing on his 6th NHL team whose career high in points is 35???   I don’t know but there is no chance I want him on my fantasy team.  The only problem with that is the guy I’m talking about is Marc-Andre Bergeron, the current points leader amongst Defenseman.  If you’ve had him up to this point, consider yourself lucky and enjoy the ride while it lasts cuz the clock will strike midnight soon.

Martin St. Louis – RW (TB):  Had an Assist last night but overall the production is not where it should be.  Points are a little down (3G, 7A) through 12 Games but the real issue is just 1 Power Play Point.  He had 41 of them last season and right now he’s on pace for just 7.  Ouch…

Chad LaRose – LW/RW (Car):  Some classic WWF here.  The talent is marginal but he can pop a Goal here & there and he’s got dual wing eligibility… Now drop him and move onto some other Waiver Wire Fodder (he’s not quite good enough to be a Waiver Wire All Star).

Ville Leino – C/LW (Buf):  My first mention of Leino since the preseason and possibly my last mention of him in a long time.  1 Goal, 1 Assist, 5 Shots on Goal.  Those are his season stats.  He might be worth $27 Million to the owner of the Sabres, but in fantasyland he’s not even worth a roster spot in a 16 team league…

Patrice Bergeron – C (Bos):  Scored just his 3rd Goal of the season and Boston really needs him to keep scoring if they wanna turn their season around.  I think he (and they) will…

Chris Neil – RW (Ott):  2 Assists in last night’s loss and now has a tasty 3G/4A/28SOG/46PIMs on the season.  That’s more than a FAGNOF.  He’s also going to get more minutes with Alfredsson out.  Pick him up if he’s available.

Teemu Selanne – RW (Ana):  The first time Teemu Selanne had 2 Goals and 2 Assists in a game was November 12, 1992. Against the Minnesota North Stars.  Unbelievable.

Jonas Hiller – G (Ana):  Had another bad game and I hope this is just a slow start rather than something else.  On a personal note Hiller is killing me in 2 leagues.

Nicklas Backstrom – C (Wsh):  Another 2 Goals and if I had to pick one player on the Capital’s for the rest of the season, right now, I’d take Backstrom over Ovechkin…

Mikko Koivu – C (Min):  Look Ma!  I scored!  And in his 11th game of the season Mikko scores his 1st Goal.  Congrats.  But if I wanted your brother I would have just drafted him 10 rounds later…

Devin Setoguchi – RW (Min):  I trashed the ‘guchi in the preseason but 4 Goals and 3 Assists isn’t completely useless.  Has probably worked his way into the Waiver Wire Fodder category.

Alex Tanguay – LW (Cgy):  Only his 2nd Goal of the season last night on just 9 Shots.  HOWEVA, 7 Assists in 10 Games (3 on the Power Play) makes him a borderline #2LW.

Alex Edler – D (Van):  A Goal and 2 Assists after 2 Goals and 1 Assist last game.  For you English majors that’s 6 Points in 2 Games.  I talked about him a couple weeks ago and advised you to try and trade for him… (couldn’t resist pointing out one of the few things I’ve been right about this season.)

Sidney Crosby – C (Pit):  Still hasn’t had any real contact and earliest date for a return is November 11.  (Well that’s what some of the ‘perts are saying anyway).  Just gotta keep crossing your fingers if you own him cuz the slightest setback could knock him out another month…. at least.
