What’s poppin’, Razzpimples?

If you’re new to this column or have no idea what the Friday/Sunday split is, it’s a simple yet effective way to maximize your weekly output no matter the format of your league. Typically — and it’s not always the case — heavy game loads are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, whereas Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays are lighter. Streaming players on those lighter days is almost a necessity to ensure you’re getting the most of each week, but this column focuses on just Fridays and Sundays. Reason being is that you get more bang for your waiver add buck in picking up a guy who will play those two days and will almost always be able to slot into your starting lineup without having to sacrifice someone else to the bench.

Let’s do it to it.

Another week with four teams on the Friday/Sunday slate: Anaheim, Arizona, New Jersey, and Washington

Anaheim Ducks

Two home games for the Mighty Mighty Ducks: hosting NJ Friday and VAN on Sunday.

Ryan Strome has re-emerged as a solid streamer and is only on 24% of rosters. Has 1 G, 4 A, and 4 STP over his last six. Extra nice that he can go into any forward position on your lineup, too.

Adam Henrique fills more cats than he does score points, though he’s a decent enough points streamer anyway. If FOW are your jam, he helps there as well.

Cam Fowler is leading the PPQB charge at the moment, so that’s always streamable. And with 1 G, 3 A, and 3 STP over the last couple weeks, you probably wanna try to get a piece of that pie.

Arizona Coyotes

The Yotes are on the road for both of these (on the road all week, actually): visiting Ottawa on Friday and then Washington on Sunday.

Mathew Dumba is on the trade block and thus trying to look as tantalizing as he can. Even so, there’s not much to write home about in terms of offense. But if you’re in a category banger, he’s a nice fill-in. Over the last couple weeks, he’s got 29 H+BLK in six games.

Nick Bjugstad, in that same span, has 3 G, 1 A, 18 SOG, 9 H, 3 BLK, and 39 FOW. A great stream in the right kind of league.

Jack McBain has 22 H over his last six. Stream for those and nothing else.

Lawson Crouse is on 55% of rosters but is a great category streamer if you can get your hands on him. Always gonna give you serviceable SOG+H with a chance for a G or PPP or two.

Liam O’Brien is your elite PIM source.

New Jersey Devils

New Jersey is also on the road for both the weekend games: at Anaheim Friday and then they travel to Los Angeles on Sunday.

Erik Haula has some points upside, but it ain’t like his heyday. Still an okay stream if you need a few extra SOG+H and FOW.

Ondrej Palat is a very decent points stream. Has 4 PTS in his last 7 GP. There’s a little powerplay exposure at least.

Washington Capitals

The Caps get to stay at home this weekend: Friday against Philly and Sunday against Zona.

Connor McMichael isn’t far removed from back-to-back two-goal games, and just two games ago he had a pair of assists. The minutes are good, and exposure to Powerplay Ovechkin is always a good thing.

Aliaksei Protas has churned out some points lately: 2 G and 5 A in his last six. Probably a good idea to see if you can…capitalize on that. See what I did there?

Max Pacioretty has fallen quite far from the stud we knew in Vegas. Maybe things are trending in the right direction. Patches has a goal in back-to-back games and a point in five of his last six. The ice time is still much lower than we’re accustomed to seeing, though. At least he’s making the most of it. And you know he’s out there for powerplay time.
