Hey guys, happy end of November, Christmas is coming! Sven here back with another Buy/Sell/Hold. I will simply be looking at what these particular players have done performance-wise so far this season, and what I anticipate. Let me know if you guys like this type of content!

ALL STATS ARE AS OF THE MORNING OF NOVEMBER 29, 2018

BUY:

Dylan Strome – 21GP 4-4-8. Small sample size, but it appears the Hawks are looking to capitalize on Debrincat and Strome’s previous chemistry in Erie (OHL) since acquiring the former third overall pick. Now look for Chiarelli to give up his whole team for the two so they can play with McDaddy again! Doesn’t hurt that Patty Kane is the third man on that line. Strome had a goal and a helper in his first game as a Blackhawk, but keep your eye out for now!

Jesper Bratt – 10GP 2-5-7. With ten games under his belt this season coming off a jaw injury, Bratt has jumped into the #1RW position playing with Hall and Hischier. Five points in his last six and TOI on the rise? Looks like a streamer target to me!

Nick Foligno – 23GP 6-9-15. This Columbus second line has been very impressive as of late, and with Josh Anderson filling the net someone HAS to be passing him the puck. Welcome to streaming territory, Nick!

Shea Weber – 1GP 0-1-1. Fresh off the shelf and immediately vaulted to top-two #1PP, Captain Weber is back for the Habs. Grab him while you can!

Nikolay Goldobin – 27GP 4-12-16. Playing with Boeser and Pettersson will bode well for Goldobin as he finds his stride in his first full NHL season. With his ATOI up to 17 minutes as of late, he should be looked at as a streaming target!

SELL:

Jason Zucker – 24GP 7-9-16. I may just be frustrated because I dropped Zucker right before his second-half explosion last year, AND he isn’t impressing me to start this year. The problem with Minny players is they appear to roll their lines – Charlie Coyle is logging about the same TOI despite being on the third line, compared to Zucker’s #1LW slot. Also in watching a couple games, I love Zucker as a player but he just doesn’t seem to be in a lot of quality scoring opportunities. I have dropped him in one league.

Ryan Dzingel – 23GP 10-7-17. Boy that little run for Dzingel was sure fun! Look for him to catch fire again, but this Sens team is not much to write home about for the time being.

Jeff Petry – 25GP 2-15-17. Weber back in the lineup means Petry can finally take a breath, as he has been logging some hefty minutes on Montreal’s back-end. Though he will still receive some PP#2 time, his fantasy value has diminished quite a bit.

HOLD:

Jakub Voracek – 24GP 6-12-18. Though last season certainly was above-average for Voracek, he did snap his five-game scoring drought the other night against the Sens. This whole Flyers team will turn it around soon, and I am sure Voracek will find his game.

Jeff Carter – 24GP 4-8-12. Much like Voracek, I am sure Carter will pick it up soon. He does have just three assists in his last 11 games, they all came on the power play. The 33-year-old still has some good years left in him!

    Thanks Sven – at what point do you cut bait on Jonathan Quick?

    Also I have Kucherov, Tuch, Boeser with only 2 RW spots. How would you decide which 2 to start when all 3 are playing? I’ve left the highest scoring one on the bench for the past week. 12 team H2H std points

      @Jumponit:
      You’ve left Kucherov on the bench?!? I like Tuch alot but I think that he is the sit when Boeser gets going. And it looks like it may have only 2 games back for that to happen.

      @Jumponit: I’m no Sven but I would have Kuch as a mainstay in one spot and cycle the other two based on match-ups and who’s hot.

    • Sven

      @Jumponit: Kuch should be in the lineup 11 days out of 10. As for the other two, it depends on matchups. Vegas’ 2nd line is riding a hot streak (you can thank Patches for that), but Boeser looked good last night against the Knights. Just take a look at matchups!

      @Jumponit: As for Quick, I’m not giving up on him just yet. Traded Bishop for him in one of my leagues just to see how it goes

  2. Mr. Rickey says:

    Good points – what about Pietrangelo? Looks like a total bust so far. Would you drop him for:

    Klefbom
    Theodore
    Morrissey
    Gudas

    All are available on waivers – 12 team Roto, hits count.

      @Mr. Rickey: I’m sure Pietrangelo will pick it up soon, I’m actually trying to trade for him now and buy low. If you really wanted to pick someone up, Theodore is the guy as he is still getting good minutes even with Schmidt back.

    Hey Sven,
    I asked Viz this as well. Curious for some more feedback.
    Wondering what calibre goalie I could try to get for Larkin? Could also package him with Crawford or Raanta but think that their value is at a season low right now. I think that obviously Raanta is injured right now. Crawford is a mystery. Started off great and has faded into oblivion. I dont mind buying low on a struggling goalie and hoping for the best(Murray?).
    What do you think?

    • Sven

      Sven says:

      @dubjay: Larkin is worth more than you think (well, Viz and I value him pretty high)… But a guy like Murray or Bishop would be a good acquisition given you have Raants AND Crow.

        @Sven:
        What about Varlamov? I think his owner might bite. Like the team alot and hes played much better as of late.

          @dubjay: Might be able to get him and a sweetener for Larkin IMO

            @Sven:
            I like Larkin. Even more outside of fantasy hockey. Hes a great player. But I have an embarrasment of riches at C with Wheeler, Stamkos, Skinner, Dubois and even Trocheck on the IR. So the odds of him playing in a roto league are pretty slim. I sent out an offer for Rask but doubt he will bite. I dont think the owner with Bishop would bite either. Pretty sure I could get Murray but he scares the crap out of me. Put him in the same group as J.Allen.

              @dubjay: Maybe look at selling high on Dubois for Rask

  4. Marco Aurélio Corrêa Cordeiro da Silva says:

    Hey Sven, need a D for an empty space and maybe a C to replace Lars Eller (think he devalued, maybe I’m wrong).
    So, here are the guys availiable

    D’s availiable for an empty spot – Hronek, Hunt, Butler, Bayreuther, Forsling, DeMelo, Connauton, Nutivaara, Dumolin, Polak, Weegar, Stecher, Del Zotto, Dillon, Lybushkin, Tanev, Hjalmarsson, Seeler, Smith, Beaulieu, Rutta, Pelech…
    C’s (for Lars Eller place, maybe) – Strome, Eakin, Coleman, Zajac, Shaw, Boyle, Vatrano, Wallmark, Bozak, Granlund, White, Bennett, Batherson, Byron…

    Any help? Thanks buddy

    • Sven

      @Marco Aurélio Corrêa Cordeiro da Silva: Eakin is a good streaming option since Patches has found his scoring touch! Keep your eye on Strome for the time being as well.

      As for D, I like Bayreuther’s second pairing, PP#2 opportunities with Klingberg on the shelf. As for Vancouver D, it’s actually Hutton that I see as the best fantasy candidate (same situation as Bayreuther).

    Rackell or Keller in week 10? Exclude SOG in analysis.

    • Sven

      @christian herman: Keller for his TOI, but I do like Rakell’s matchups… Flip a coin!

    How long do we hope Philadelphia turns it around? I mean Gost and Prov are absolutely killing me. Still saying wait it out on these clowns?

    • Sven

      @Nathan: Ghost is a must-own still, but with Prov I’m not too sure, I just think he’s having a hard time playing this many minutes AND chipping in offensively. This is just his third season in the Show after all. I’ve seen him get shuffled around in leagues so he might be worth a flip for someone else you can buy low on.
