  1. Matthew says:

    Drafted today!

    12 Team H2H, I had the 9th pick.

I like my team but am light at Goalie. I prefer 3. I was gonna shoot for Tim Thomas but he went WAY too early for my 3rd goalie, someone took him in I believe rd 12.

    C – Kane
    C – Stephan
    RW – Nash
    RW – Jaime Benn
    LW – Voracek
    LW – Parenteau
    D – Subban
    D -Enstrom
    D- Jack Johnson
    D -Wisniewski
    B – Mikko Koivu
    B – Levalier
    B – Tarasenko
    B – J Staal

    G – Luongo
    G – Ward

      Andrew Nordmeier says:

Thomas makes Florida an interesting team to watch. He’ll give them a chance to steal a few more wins in their new division. He also solidifies goaltending as no one on that team had a GAA under 3 last season. Thomas will be drafted earlier than expected because of the name value but I’d want to see how he does on the ice before I go all ga-ga for the goalie. A year off is a VERY long time.

    • Andrew Nordmeier

      Andrew Nordmeier says:

I like what I see out of this team. They look like another solid group. I like LeCavalier on the bench and am interested to see how he is used and perform in Philly. It’s odd to not associate Lighting and LeCavalier for the first time in 15 years. Goaltending looks good and I hope Cam Ward rebounds from the way last season was. Between the birth of a new kid and a defense that couldn’t clear the puck, Ward was stressed all season. Then his knee injury hit and that was it.

Tarasenko hopefully can build on last season (and stay healthy). I think Subban and Enstrom should pick up quite a few power play points for their respective teams. Enstrom should hopefully stay healthy too; he missed that big chunk of time with a concussion and the Jets power play crashed and burned when he was out. Big Buff couldn’t do it all himself.

      • Matthew says:

@Andrew Nordmeier: Would you hold 5 defenseman? Should I drop anyone for Diaz? What do you think about Eller? Haha, already 1 G 1 A. I just may need another D.

        • Andrew Nordmeier

          Andrew Nordmeier says:

Eller looked pretty good tonight. But one game shouldn’t cause anyone to jump to their wire. I would hold a 5th D just in case guys start getting hurt. It’s better to be prepared now and have some options instead of hoping your initial 4 D-men can hold their water.

  2. Alfonso says:

Long time lurker, first time commenter here. I just signed up for the second league. Is the draft really on Sunday? I haven’t really prepared for hockey yet… gonna have to cram tonight.

    • Andrew Nordmeier

      Andrew Nordmeier says:

Alfonso! Thanks for jumping in. Yes, it is on Sunday…season starts TUESDAY!

      • Alfonso says:

@Andrew Nordmeier: Oh wow… creeped up on me this year. I’m crawl out from under this rock and fire up the spreadsheets. See you Sunday!

  3. RalphW says:

    Wat up wat up!

For a scoring system in roto as (G), (A), (+/-), (PIM), (PPG), (SHG), (SOG) and (W), (GAA), (SV%), (SHO) do you still recommend drafting golies 1st/2nd or 2nd/3rd? Thanks

I just joined Razzball Fantasy 2nd Period, sorry but that eliminates any chance you had to win the championship!

    • Andrew Nordmeier

      Andrew Nordmeier says:

I would go in the first three for sure. But whether you go 1-2, 2-3 or 1-3 depends on the flow of the draft.

  4. Troy: The Collector

    troy says:

points league 13 teams 2 points for goals 1 for assists 3 for hat tricks 5 for wins and shut outs from goalies… heres my team no bench spots
    F daniel sedin
    F taylor hall
    F marian gaborik
    F joe pavelski
    F Johnathan Huberdeau
    F Blake wheeler
    D Alec Pietrangelo
    D Alexander Edler
    D Justin Faulk
    D Victor Hedman
    G Tuukka Rask
    G Mike Smith

How do you think i did? i used rotowire software to help me and it has me projected to win, i feel like im a little weak on d but i just filled it with a bunch of assists guys besides faulk who scores some goals anyway let me know.

    • Andrew Nordmeier

      Andrew Nordmeier says:

Goaltending looks solid. The forwards are a good group and hopefully Huberdeau has another solid season in Florida. The defense is a little weak since Hedman has more value on PP than 5 on 5. Pieterangelo should have a solid season and the defensemen as a whole are solid but not spectacular.

  5. Spike Owen says:

Only came over to this side of Razzball today, since baseball ended yesterday. I’d be interested in a league, if there’s enough players floating around who aren’t in one yet…

    • Andrew Nordmeier

      Andrew Nordmeier says:

I think we ran out of time to get a third league up and running with the season opening up tonight

  6. RICK says:

I drafted in a public league a couple days ago. Sorry, I wanted to join your league, but I couldn’t make any of your draft times and I always prefer to be at the draft. This is the team I drafted in a yahoo public league. What do you think? Should I drop anybody here for Scott Hartnell?

    C – Tyler Seguin (C/RW)
    C – Nazem Kadri
    LW – James Neal (RW/LW)
    LW – Max Pacioretty
    RW – Alex Ovechkin
    RW – Corey Perry
    D – Erik Karlsson
    D – Slava Voynov
    D- Francois Beauchemin
    D – Jason Garrison
    BN – Mikko Koivu
    BN – Patrice Bergeron
    BN – Ryan McDonagh
    G – Braden Holtby
    G – Devan Dubnyk
    G – Niklas Backstrom

    • Andrew Nordmeier

      Andrew Nordmeier says:

I would hold the roster as it is. This team looks really good all the way throughout. Hartnell had injury issues last season and I want to see how he fits in with the Flyers on a full-time basis. He was disappointing last season. Wait on dropping anyone since the team looks sold.

    • Andrew Nordmeier

      Andrew Nordmeier says:

Nah. Keep it is as is for now due to the fact that Hartnell wasn’t so hot last season and dealt with injury issues too.

  7. Scottie O. says:

Just had my draft last night (10-team H2H). Thoughts on strengths / weaknesses:

    C: Stamkos
    C: Kadri
    LW: Couture (C/LW)
    LW: Ladd
    RW: Perry
    RW: Hossa
    D: Subban
    D: Weber
    D: Voynov
    D: McDonagh
    UTL: van Riemsdyk (LW)
    G: Mike Smith, Luongo, Lehtnon
Bn: Hartnel (LW), Koivu (C), Perron (LW), Alfredsson (RW)

    Some notable FA’s:
    Grabovski (WAS – C)
    Jagr (NJ – RW)
    Hodgson (BUF – C/RW)
    Seth Jones (NSH – D)
    Tim Thomas (Fla – G)

    • Andrew Nordmeier

      Andrew Nordmeier says:

Strengths. I like the Centers and Kadri should hopefully repeat last season’s results. The team looks pretty good top to bottom.

Weaknesses: I would consider adding another defenseman for depth just in case someone goes cold or gets hurt. The first four are great but there’s no one behind them.

I’d leave the goalies as they are right now. Thomas needs to prove it on the ice before I consider picking him up. And besides, you have what look like 3 #1 goalies on your roster.

  8. willy says:

Hello… Willy from Canada here. Did my draft last night H2H 12 man. Stats are G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SOG, H… for golie stats we have W, GAA, SV%, SHO…Here’s my team:

    1. Giroux
    2. H. Sedin
    3. E. Kane
    4. Lucic
    5. B. Ryan
    6. Seguin
    7. Yandle
    8. Boyle
    9. Ernhoff
    10. D. Hamilton
    11. Reimer

    1. Weiss
    2. C. Schneider
    3. B. Schenn
    4. Brouwer

I drafted 9th overall. What do you think?

Also, just wondering if posts are going to be as infrequent as they have been so far. I love Razzball for Baseball and Football, but get the impression that Hockey won’t be a daily thing like the two other sports I mentioned…

    • Andrew Nordmeier

      Andrew Nordmeier says:

Hello Willy from Canada! I like the team that I see there. The defensemen are a average in my opinion. They’ll get you some points but they won’t blow you away night in and night out. I like what you did with both New Jersey goaltenders. If you play in a larger league, it’s a good idea to do this so you can ensure you get your starts in and not miss out on the goaltending half of the equation.

As for the posts, they are getting much more frequent. We shoud be halving at least 10 a week going forward.
