It’s the Red Wings and the Bruins on NBC!  This means that even the 90 year old couple who has one of the first color televisions ever built can watch a hockey game.  Sure they may have to adjust their rabbit ears to get a good picture, but they can watch hockey nonetheless.  For those of us who love hockey and/or just have a vested interest in this game because we own some of the players – it’s a great thing to have hockey center stage on a network everybody has.  Cox Cable or Dish may not carry Versus, but you can damn well bet they have NBC…  About the game itself, the Bruins come into it on fire having won 10 straight games while the Wings have won 3 in a row themselves.  But of course this is all about fantasy hockey, so who gives a flying F about what the teams are doing??  There are plenty of fantasy studs to get excited about in this game..  Seguin, Chara, Thomas, Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Lidstrom, Lucic, Howard.  Plus close to stud guys like Marchand, Bergeron, Franzen & Kronwall.   Should be an awesome game and I hope ya’ll will be watching it with me and commenting/asking questions at the same time.  I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the game as well, so keep hitting that REFRESH button to see my latest musings… And finally, as my boy Mills Lane would say:  Let’s get it on!!!

Come on NBC.  How tried is the “follow Player X around as he takes the cup somewhere” segment?  We know Boston won the cup last year and we know that each player gets to have it for a week.. Get to the game!

Flipper!!  I’ve been telling you to not count on this guy to keep producing, and yet he keeps producing.  Maybe he can keep this up. He wouldn’t be the first Red Wing to blossom late…  And BTW, the Red Wing Penalty Kill looks as good as it has all year.

Of course all the talk of Seguin and Chara and Lucic and who gets the first Goal for the B’s?  The incomparable Daniel Paille…

Sick goal by Datsyuk.  How he didn’t lose his balance and fall after the shot is remarkable.  It really goes without saying but he truly is one of the Top 3 or 4 most talented players in the NHL.

And there it is, a nice Shootout victory for the Wings snaps the B’s win streak at 10.  I thought Tuuka Rask was unbelievable in this game, making 41 Saves many of which were the “oh wow” category.  Jimmy Howard looked okay.  Most of the his Goals allowed were of the “oh wow that was weak” category.  You gotta make the save against Bergeron in the 3rd.  No reason to have to go to a Shootout to get the Win.. Anyway that’s it and remember I’m answering any and all questions, just make sure they are fantasy hockey related! NAAAAA!
