So we ended up with four 12 team leagues so taking a look at all 4 will be a weekly occurence.  So hopefully you are all participating and we don’t have too much dead weight throughout the leagues.  Now let’s get to it:

League #1: The Cheap Seats

Commissioner: Howard

Rank         Team                         W-L-T    Pct   Pts
1.        Parenteau Guidance     10-1-0  .909  20

2.        Optimus Reim                 7-4-0   .636  14

3.        The Price is Right            6-4-1   .591  13

4.        DeceptionDominance    6-4-1   .591  13

5.        BroadStreetBullies          5-4-2   .545  12

6.        Hank for Vezina               4-4-3   .500  11

7.        Whobustedass                 4-4-3   .500  11

8.        Laraque Bottom              4-5-2    .455  10

9.        Jethro                                4-6-1    .409  9

10.      BlueLineDefenders          4-6-1   .409   9

11.      KyHabs                               4-7-0   .364   8

12.      Grabner 5-Hole                1-10-0  .091  2

So I’ll make “The Cheap Seats” the first league I look at (for no particular reason).  Parenteau Guidance destroyed Grabner5-Hole 10-1.  Those are the kinds of weeks that take a while to recover from so hopefully Grabner5-Hole can bounce back.  Coming up big for ParenteauGuidance were Ryan Nugent Hopkins and James Neal with 9 goals between them. James Neal had a whopping 24 shots and along with Phil Kessel/John Tavares was the MVP of the league in week 1.  PG also had stellar goaltending from Pekka Rinne and James Reimer with 5 wins combined.  The rest of the matchups were incredibly even with 7-4 being the next worst beating.  Could shape up to be the crazy league where 9 or 10 teams are still alive for a playoff spot in the last week.

League #2 – RazzPuckBunnies

Commissioner: Jack

Rank     Team                               W-L-T   Pct Pts
1.        Ice Road Puckers             10-1-0 .909 20
2.        Portable Ninja                  9-2-0  .818  18
3.        Team Vigilante                 7-3-1   .682 15
4.        Wampa                              6-5-0   .545 12
5.        Greyston Schmohawks   6-5-0   .545 12
6.        drb_redwings                   5-4-2   .545 12
7.        Chubby Beavers               5-6-0   .455 10
8.        SuicidalEnforcers             5-6-0   .455 10
9.        Top Shelf                           4-5-2   .455 10
10.      Gator’s Bitches                3-7-1    .318  7
11.      Sin Bin Sadists                 2-9-0    .182  4
12.      Jagr Bombs                     1-10-0   .091  2

The Commish’s team (Jagr Bombs) lost to Ice Road Puckers 10-1.  Ice Road Puckers went nuts with big time performers John Tavares, Thomas Vanek, Shane Doan, Sheldon Souray, Pekka Rinne, and James Reimer.  Jagr Bomb’s forwards were fairly average across the board (Joe Pavelski had 2 PPG but nothing else, Scott Hartnell sucked, and somehow Jeff Skinner finished -6 after solid point totals?)  The real culprits however were Ondrej Pavelec of Winnipeg and Craig Anderson of Ottawa who destroyed all of JagrBomb’s ratios.  The rest of the league was pretty competitive as only Portable Ninja topped 8 Wins.

League #3 – RCL Bobby Hull Division

Commissioner:  Vin Reich

Rank         Team                        W-L-T     Pct   Pts
1.           i miss baseball            9-1-1     .864   19
2.           NosefaceKillah           9-1-1     .864    19
3.           Shishka                        7-4-0     .636   14
4.           The Vincibles              6-4-1     .591   13
5.           GoPuckYourMother  6-5-0     .545    12
6.           TheMustaches            5-5-1     .500    11
7.           blunt blazing freak     5-5-1     .500    11
8.           Smarch Snow              5-6-0     .455    10
9.           Detroit Rust Rats        4-6-1     .409     9
10.         Rochester Americans 4-7-0     .364    8
11.         Rasktastic!                    1-9-1     .136    3
12.         Celtic Frost                    1-9-1     .136   3

So we had a pair of beat-downs in this league with imissbaseball and NosefaceKillah destroying Celtic Frost and Rasktastic! 9-1-1.  Imissbaseball was lead by Anze Kopitar and some Defenseman on the Leafs named Dion while Celtic Frost’s Goaltending did him in (Roloson and Halak).  The NosfaceKillah got huge performances from Thomas Vanek (3g, 4a, +1, 4PIM, 2PPP, 20SOG), King Henrik Sedin (2g, 5a) and Jimmy Howard (3W, 1.63/.930, 1SO).  Rasktastic! was let down by JUMBO Joe (0 Pts, -1) and the awful Craig Anderson.

League #4

Commissioner:  Matt D.

Rank         Team                           W-L-T     Pct    Pts
1.           Toronto Make Beliefs  10-1-0   .909   20
2.           Puck the Folice               8-2-1    .764   17
3.           Razzmatazz                     8-3-0    .727   16
4.           Jolly Razzers                   7-3-1     .682   15
5.           Zak Dream Team           6-4-1     .591   13
6.           Go Sharks                        6-5-0     .545   12
7.           Motorboaters                 5-6-0     .455   10
8.           Rocky Mountain Thigh  4-6-1     .409    9
9.           SnepstsMustacheRides 3-7-1     .318    7
10.        Pominville NY                   3-8-0    .273     6
11.        True North Puck Co.        2-8-1    .236     5
12.        the barbershop                1-10-0  .091     2

Thomas Vanek’s 7-point week helped Toronto Make Beliefs lay a fatty on the barbershop’s head. Dude had a fairly balanced attack but Vanek, Johan Franzen (4 points) and Chris Pronger (5 points) led the way.  The barbershop got a donut with a side of -4 from top D-man Lubomir Visnovsky and Corey Perry chimed in with one whole point. Both teams had some decent goaltending but TMB took the cat’s on the strength of James Reimer and Marc-Andre Fleury’s 3-win weeks… And I gotta hand it to this league, they definitely took the cake when it comes to team names.  TorontoMakeBeliefs, Motorboaters, PucktheFolice and RockyMountainThigh are all awesome. Nice work…

Okay so there is your RCL League update for Week 1!  Thanks to all the Commissioner’s for their hard work!
