The Jolly Razzers blasted True North Puck Co. 7-2 to cruise to the championship. The regular season champions got shutouts from both Cory Schneider and Cam Ward to finish 3-1-1 in the goaltending categories. Jaroslav Halak and Pekka Rinne recorded goals against averages over 3 at the wrong time for True North.
Right wingers Marian Gaborik (3 goals, 3 assists, +4, 2 PPP, 10 shots) and Wayne Simmonds (4 goals, 1 assist, +2, 7 PIM, 1 PP, 12 shots) paced the offense for the Razzers, who also got solid contributions from Ilya Kovalchuk and Mikko Koivu. The Penguin duo of Evgeni Malkin (2 goals, 5 assists) and James Neal (4 goals) continued to score for True North, but also combined for a -10 rating for the week.
The CHeap Seats
Marian Gaborik helped another team to the title as Parenteau Guidance downed Jethro 7-3 in the final. Henrik Sedin (5 assists, 4 PIM), James Neal (4 goals, 24 shots), and Dion Phaneuf (6 PIM) also provided some key stats in the victory. Brian Elliott’s shutout gave PG 3 goalie categories over Henrik Lundqvist and Marc-Andre Fleury. Lundqvist was brilliant once again with 3 wins and a 1.76 goals against average, but that was not enough as Fleury had no wins and 5.31/.788 ratios for Jethro.
Jethro got great numbers from the defense, as Erik Karlsson, Alex Edler, and Brent Seabrook combined for 2 goals and 9 assists with 30 shots and a +13, but only Joe Pavelski (4 goals, 18 shots) helped out at the forward positions.

In the most exciting final matchup, Team Vigilante and the Greyston Schmohawks battled to a 5-5 tie, which was all the Vigilante needed to become champions by virtue of their 2 regular season wins over the Schmohawks. It came down to the final game of the week, as Team Vigilante had Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf versus the Schmohawks’ young Oiler trio of Sam Gagner, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and Jordan Eberle.   Nugent-Hopkins and Eberle were each +2, but Gagner’s -1 left the Schmohawks down 1 in the +/- category, and they will have to live with the fact that if Sam Gagner had not been on the ice when Anaheim scored their lone goal, they would now be champions.
Greyston won 4 of the 5 goaltending categories, but Jonathan Quick’s shutout gave Team Vigilante a key point. Dustin Brown (2 goals/3 assists/+5/16 shots) and Alex Edler (3 assists/+5), along with James Neal led the offense to a 4-1-1 record on the offensive side.

The Rochester Americans bombed the regular-season champions, GoPuckYour……, 8-3 to win the title. The Americans swept the goaltending categories behind Mike Smith’s 2 shutout victories. Craig Anderson and Sergei Bobrovsky also won 2 each. Meanwhile GPY’s Flyer goalie, Ilya Bryzgalov, contributed only 10 saves for the week.
Henrik Zetterberg led the offense with a goal and 5 assists, along with 3 PPP. Niklas Kronwall and Olli Jokinen also notched 3 PPP, while Nick Leddy added 4 assists. After a big week in the semifinals, Brian Rolston cooled off and managed just 1 assist in the final for  GoPuckYour….., whose incredible run from 48 points out of first after 13 weeks ends at the hands of the only #3 seed to become champion.
Congratulations ROCHESTER AMERICANS, TEAM VIGILANTE, PARENTEAU GUIDANCE,and JOLLY RAZZERS!!
