What’s poppin’, Razzpimples?

If you’re new to this column or have no idea what the Friday/Sunday split is, it’s a simple yet effective way to maximize your weekly output no matter the format of your league. Typically — and it’s not always the case — heavy game loads are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, whereas Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays are lighter. Streaming players on those lighter days is almost a necessity to ensure you’re getting the most of each week, but this column focuses on just Fridays and Sundays. Reason being is that you get more bang for your waiver add buck in picking up a guy who will play those two days and will almost always be able to slot into your starting lineup without having to sacrifice someone else to the bench.

Let’s do it to it.

Note: All Rostered% numbers and position eligibilities via Fantrax. All line deployment projections via Left Wing Lock.

Three teams on the Friday/Sunday slate this week: the Ducks, the Sabres, and the Maple Leafs. It’s always the Ducks, ain’t it?

Anaheim Ducks (FRI vFLA || SUN vSTL)

Ryan Strome is still quite available across the fantasy hockey landscape. No points in last two, but at the time of writing it’s still early-ish in the game against Colorado. I doubt I’ll have the wherewithal to update this again before finish, but no matter! Point or no point tonight, he’s still an elite stream. Big PPTOI is really the best you can ask for from a streaming perspective, and this guy gets it. Almost a point-per-game player and he’s on the wire in 48% of Fantrax leagues. Kinda cray cray.

Speaking of big PPTOI, Alex Killorn is also widely available and has seen plenty of minutes since returning to the ice earlier this month. He doesn’t offer much else, though — just a good solid stream for a hopeful PPP or two.

Radko Gudas is worth a stream for hits in standard formats but is a must-stream (really a must-own) in formats that count his blocks too. And if you can even bank on his PIM?! Golden. Had a Gordie Howe Hat Trick plus 10 BSH (blocks+shots+hits) in his last game. LEGENDARY. And he even has an assist so far tonight!

If you need extra blocks, then look no further than 8-blocks-in-his-last-game Ilya Lyubushkin.

Buffalo Sabres (FRI @WPG|| SUN @CHI)

Casey Mittelstadt isn’t the most available player I’ll write about, but if he happens to be there for you then you’ve got an elite streamer on your hands, with 9 PTS in his last 10. Big minutes that will only get bigger now that Tage Thompson is set to miss quite a big chunk of time. The dude sucks at every peripheral under the sun and doesn’t score many goals, but a PP apple or two is definitely within the realm of reason.

J.J. Peterka has seen at least 15 minutes of ice time in each game since Nov. 1, with most of those being 17- or 18- or 19-minute affairs. Oh, and he’s got 9 PTS in his last nine games to show for it. He brings a few shots, good +/-, and solid G+A upside. Great streaming option for a couple weekend games if you ask me.

For H+BLK, your best bet from Buffalo is Mattias Samuelsson. He’s got 61 H+BLK so far in just 13 games. That’s a nice juicy pace of 385 over 82 games.

Toronto Maple Leafs (FRI @DET|| SUN @MIN)

Max Domi has a four-game points streak going in which he’s got five assists. That sho ain’t gonna stick from a guy who’s seeing less then 14 minutes a game on average, but really I’m mentioning him as a PIM stream, as he’s got 33 PIM already on the year. Niche, I know, so take it or leave it. But maybe the assist magic continues? Maybe? He does see a little PP time.

Nicholas Robertson has a point in all four games he’s played since being recalled from the AHL on Nov. 6, skating on the third line alongside Domi and obviously sharing in the four-game point streak. Good vibes so far.

T.J. Brodie is good for two things in fantasy hockey: streaming for +/- and blocks.

That’s all for this one. I’ll be taking next week off given the Thanksgiving holiday’s wonky schedule. See y’all for Week 8!
