What’s poppin’, Razzpimples?

If you’re new to this column or have no idea what the Friday/Sunday split is, it’s a simple yet effective way to maximize your weekly output no matter the format of your league. Typically — and it’s not always the case — heavy game loads are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, whereas Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays are lighter. Streaming players on those lighter days is almost a necessity to ensure you’re getting the most of each week, but this column focuses on just Fridays and Sundays. Reason being is that you get more bang for your waiver add buck in picking up a guy who will play those two days and will almost always be able to slot into your starting lineup without having to sacrifice someone else to the bench.

Let’s do it to it.

Note: All Rostered% numbers via Fantrax. All line deployment projections via Left Wing Lock.

Buffalo Sabres (FRI @NJ|| SUN vCOL)

Casey Mittelstadt is 57% rostered on Fantrax and has 4 A in his last three games. Last year he tallied 44 while scoring 15 goals, falling just a point shy of 60. There’s nothing flashy here but there’s a chance at an apple or two.

Peyton Krebs ain’t a bad way to snag a few extra FOW given you can slot him into the wing. If you don’t need that, then don’t worry about him at all.

Connor Clifton is up to 23 H already in just 7 GP. On pace for over 250 on the season.

Minnesota Wild (FRI @WSH|| SUN @NJ)

Marco Rossi hasn’t gotten off to the flying start some may have expected from the highly-touted prospect, but he’s at least shooting at a decent clip and getting some powerplay time. Scored in it his last game against the Oilers, so maybe some of that momentum carries over.

Marcus Foligno has a whopping 29 H (and 5 BLK) in just 6 GP so far. Also has 11 PIM. If you’re short on hits come this weekend, Foligno could be a boon.

Jonas Brodin is a good stream for plus-minus, the odd assist, and for blocks. He chugs minutes and has 11 BLK in his last three.

New Jersey Devils (FRI vBUF || SUN vMIN)

I said this back in Week 1’s column, but there ain’t much in the way of streaming from New Jersey. I’ll toss Erik Haula on theresince he’s got 3 PTS in 4 GP and had 6 SOG a couple games ago.

Jonas Siegenthaler is again worth a mention for H+BLK streaming. I shouted him out in Week 1 and he popped off for the most random three-assist game ever. Of course, he’s had zilch since…

San Jose Sharks (FRI @CAR|| SUN @WSH)

I’ve always been a big Mario Ferraro fan in bangers, and he’s done nothing but stuff those cats so far: 15 SOG, 11 H, and 19 BLK in six games.

Other than Super Mario, I guess I can shout out Nico Sturm in FOW leagues. He’s already up to 56 FOW, winning 64% of draws.

Washington Capitals (FRI vMIN || SUN vSJ)

The Caps are another one of those teams where most worthwhile folks are already on rosters. Evgeny Kuznetsov might be out there for you, as he’s only on 53% of Fantrax rosters. He hasn’t done hardly a thing yet this year, but he’s seeing big minutes and PP1 time, so something’s bound to give. A matchup against San Jose never hurts.

Martin Fehervary of course gets them bangs. Stream for H+BLK. Actually, dude’s really a hold as far as that goes. If he plays a full season, he could push for 350 H+BLK. Hell, maybe even 400 — he had 345 in just 67 games last season.

T.J. Oshie is also worth a dart throw for a PPP and some extra hits. Seeing top unit time and he’s never been afraid to shoot or throw his weight around.
