What’s poppin’, Razzpimples?

If you’re new to this column or have no idea what the Friday/Sunday split is, it’s a simple yet effective way to maximize your weekly output no matter the format of your league. Typically — and it’s not always the case — heavy game loads are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, whereas Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays are lighter. Streaming players on those lighter days is almost a necessity to ensure you’re getting the most of each week, but this column focuses on just Fridays and Sundays. Reason being is that you get more bang for your waiver add buck in picking up a guy who will play those two days and will almost always be able to slot into your starting lineup without having to sacrifice someone else to the bench.

Let’s do it to it.

Welp, it’s an irregular week since we’re coming off All-Star weekend. There’s not a team that plays both Friday and Sunday, so I’m just gonna highlight guys from Friday games and then guys from Sunday games.

Friday Games

EDM @ ANA

Let’s start with Ducks. Adam Henrique is hot and he’s trade bait, so both he and the team want him out there looking real good. Well on his way in that regard with 9 PTS during a six-game point streak. You can always stream Ilya Lyubushkin for extra blocks and Radko Gudas for extra H+BLK.

For the Oilers, it gets tricky picking streamers. They’re too ding dang top-heavy. There’s seriously not a single name I can point you toward, honestly. Maybe if you’re in a Pacific-teams-only league and you need a few faceoffs from Ryan McLeod.

NYR @ CHI

Well, without Bedard, the Blackhawks ain’t anything worth your time. Philipp Kurashev has fizzled back into nothing. Jason Dickinson, Nick Foligno, and Jarred Tinordi can get you a variety of peripherals that you may need, but there ain’t a soul I bother streaming for any hope of offense.

The Rangers are another one of those teams where everyone worth your fantasy while is already on a roster. Will Cuylle is a great hits stream, though. If Alexis Lafreniere is out there, he’s okay for a few shots and maybe a point or two.

PIT @ MIN

I was gonna shout out one of my favorite sneaky bang sources, Noel Acciari, but he left Tuesday’s game early and was ruled out almost immediately. It’s likely he misses some time. Don’t know that Pittsburgh has anything you’ll need for streaming purposes. Lars Eller for faceoffs is all I got.

The Brock Faber train is in full force, so it’s unlikely you’ll be able to stream him given over three-quarters of fantasy leagues have finally clocked he’s awesome. That leaves Ryan Hartman and Marco Rossi as low-end streamers for offensive upside and Jake Middleton as a decent H+BLK guy.

Sunday Games

STL @ MTL

On the Habs side, Juraj Slafkovsky has 3 G in his last two games and 5 PTS in his last five. He throws a few hits and shots around as well. The Blues aren’t an intimidating opponent, so this looks like a solid stream if you ask me. Extra hits can be had from Michael Pezzetta, while extra blocks can be gotten from David Savard.

Brayden Schenn remains a high-end stream if he’s there. At 57% rostered, he might not be. He has 4 G in his last six, with 13 SOG and 17 H+BLK in that span. Just a solid category guy all around. Colton Parayko isn’t a bad option for SOG, H, and BLK either.

VAN @ WSH

Every point to be had in Vancouver comes from the likes of Petey, Miller, Hughes, Boeser, and now Lindholm, but now there’s also Pius Suter to consider. He’s bumped up to second line alongside Miller and Boeser and had a little streak of 6 PTS in three games. Put up goose eggs in just 14:20 TOI last game, but with those linemates things can ramp up in a hurry. For bangs, there are few dudes: Dakota Joshua pummels bodies, Nikita Zadorov brings good hits and PIM, and Tyler Myers soaks up shots and is also pretty good for PIM.

That’s all for this week! Thanks for reading. Leave me a comment below so I feel all warm and fuzzy.
