And we’re off! Just past the ten year anniversary of my start at Razzball and over 1,000 posts later, I’m back to provide everything you need for the upcoming fantasy hockey season. Today, I’m simply going to outline my schedule before the season starts as I wanted to let everyone know that I’m returning and to get my first post out as soon as possible.
Before I tell you the plan, I wanted to ask if anyone was looking to contribute as a writer this season. Good help is hard to come by, and unfortunately. JKJ is unable to contribute this season. I’m extremely flexible in terms of what you write about and the schedule that you want to be on, so if you have some interest, please let me know in the comments section and then I’ll reach out to you privately. Thanks!
As for my rankings, we’re exactly three weeks from the start of the season. We’re going to get things rolling on Friday with my Top 20. After that, I’m going to change up a bit from the past and go through forwards to start. I’m going to go through the top 80 forwards, then 40 defensemen, before moving onto goaltending. I will probably split the goaltending into two posts. This will only get us through about 150 players, but after that, I’m going to post my Top 200, simply as a list that people can use for drafts. After that, I’m going to cover players that I like and don’t like that I didn’t cover in my previous posts. At the end of the drafts, I have found it more useful to target specific categories and upside, especially in shallow leagues. Writing a paragraph on every player that late seems like a waste of time when I can get straight to the point and cover the relevant players. Players that I had ranked in the 190-200 range last season that were among my favorite targets were Marchenko and Hutson, both of whom exceeded expectations. Here’s to hoping we can find someone else to break out this year.
After that, I’ll get my ten bold predictions of the season out, and then I’ll be back to doing daily notes and other developments around the league. Now is the time for everyone to let me know if there’s something that you want me to cover throughout the season. Please let me know in the comments section below if there’s something you’re looking for. That’s all for today, I’ll be back on Friday getting the rankings started. Thanks for reading, take care!
