Hey guys, it’s been since last Wednesday that I had a post, which as you know is far from the norm. I flew home on Friday and I started to feel sick on my first flight. By the time I got on my connecting flight, I was feeling pretty rough. By the time I got home, I felt horrible. These last two days have been the worst I’ve felt in a long time. I didn’t want to go without posting again, so I’m going to make this quick.
One, with Christmas this week, the schedule allows me to skip a set of daily notes today. After today’s slate of games, there are no games until the 27th. For that reason, I’m going to have a post tomorrow recapping Monday’s games assuming I start to feel a little better.
Two, because of this weird slate of games this week, we can do the Three Point Challenge for Monday’s games. You can’t select MacKinnon, Draisaitl, Rantanen, Kucherov, McDavid, Kaprizov, Marner, Reinhart, Makar, Eichel, or Necas. I’m going to go with Matthew Tkachuk against the Lightning for three points.
Three, Evan should have a post up tomorrow to help your planning for the week ahead.
Lastly, this would be a good time of the year to get some feedback from the loyal readers. Is there a certain type of post that you would like for me to do? Is there something that I’ve done that I should do more frequently, or that you disliked? With this being one of the two lulls during the season, this would greatly help me both in terms of what to write about going forward on a regular basis and during the Four Nations Tournament break.

Hope you feel better Viz! I really enjoy all of your content. I’m in a keeper so I ask keeper related value questions to get a feel how you like guys over above your regular content.
Something that might be cool for this time of year is a top 100 or 200 for the second half. Grey does a top 100 for the second half in baseball. Maybe something like that so we can try to buy low or trade for guys that will put us in a stronger position to win our leagues.

Thanks LG, appreciate it. I generally find that a second half top 100 is a lot of work for not a lot of use since you can only make so many trades. I can definitely do something like two posts, one on ten players I would buy for the second half and ten I would sell?

Thanks, appreciate it. Yeah, I purposefully don’t include goalies because in 80%+ of cases, the #1 goalie for each team is an automatic hold. That’s why if I include one on the fringe, stream, or note them as a hold, it’s because I don’t think it’s a slam dunk. If it’s easier for clarity, I have no problem putting all goalies in the list going forward.
I lean towards Ehlers, although the hits with Sherwood are so insane that you can make a case for him.

3 pt: Staying with Pasta.
As far as articles go, how about more keeper cap league content. I find these the most challenging leagues to be in.

This would be something that if we had a bunch of writers, I think it could be covered. I find it to be a very niche league setup that I don’t think would carry any value for 80%+ of readers. For that reason, I’d rather be asked specific questions and answer them directly.

Hughes for 3 vs Rangers
I would like to see a bit more about goalies-they are tricky, who are streamers for the week, how are they all ranked week to week. It is hard in mid season to see who to drop for H2H matchups or for Roto when needing to focus on categories etc.

Evan does have a post on Monday for streamers to target, this week specifically talking about a couple goalies. Perhaps at the bottom of my Monday post, I can list two goalies I like as streamers for the week, one that is < 50% owned and one that is < 20% owned?
Personally, I don’t find a ton of value in ranking 50+ goalies every week when 25+ of them are locked onto rosters and barring a trade, aren’t switching. Ranking who I like between Oettinger and Vasilevskiy this week doesn’t carry any value to me.
Let me know what you think about that idea for including a couple streamers of the week, or I can even do it on Friday just for the weekend as Evan covers the full week and can get you off to a good start.
Was just offered Kempe for Blackwood. I have Gustavsson and Vejmelka and Dostal is also available on the wire. The Kuemper own would also send me Kuemper for Dunn if I needed to add more goalie depth.
Kempe has been great but I’m already quite strong on forward. Would you accept that deal even if I can’t get Kuemper or hold Blackwood?
