But he certainly has been scoring alot lately.  2 Goals and 3 Assists against the mighty Pen’s and all of a sudden Josh Bailey is playing like the guy New York thought they were getting when they drafted him 9th overall in 2008.  Including  the “car bomb” last night Bailey has 3 Goals, 9 Assists and a +8 in his last 6 games…. Mouth opens, druel runs down chin into my goat….  Is this the start of his breakout?  Will we look back many years from now, in a galaxy far far away, in a place where the beer flows like wine, and point to the end of the 2012 season as the moment Josh Bailey arrived?  Uh, I doubt it.  But it does at least put him on my radar for potential 2012-2013 sleepers. Now lets have a quick look-see at some other dude-bros around the league…

Mike Smith – G (Phx):  The common man once again stood on his head and pulled off another Shutout (by the way, can it be called “standing” if it doesn’t involve your legs and feet?  Shouldn’t it be like sitting or resting or balancing on your head?)  I loved Smith coming into this season, but unfortunately he has done so well I’m afraid I’ll never own him again.  We had a great 6 months Mike!  I’m sorry it ended so well!

Danny Briere– C/RW (Phi):  “Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling…”  Actually I think his teammates sticks were the ones calling after Danny boy’s 4 Assist night.  It looks like he’s headed for a strong finish (2G/5A last 3 games) which is good.  It means I might have an opening to label him a Bust in a couple months…

David Clarkson – RW (NJ):  It really is amazing that through all the criticism of his daughter David Clarkson is able to shake it off and have a career year (and yes I’m aware that my pop-culture references are outdated by at least a decade. And yes I am proud of that fact…)

Ryan Malone – LW (TB):  How is it that this guy wasn’t traded to a contender at the deadline?  Steve-to-the-Y really thought the Lightning were a contender 2 months ago?  Did you forget who your Goaltender’s were dude?  Anyway its just another snipe-tastic season for Ryan Malone, who continues to have one of the best Shooting % in the entire NHL (13% this season, 14.3% for his career).  It makes one wonder why he doesn’t just shoot more?  In 8 NHL season’s his career high is only 172 Shots…  Like I tell my forever-single sister, STOP BEING SO DAMN PICKY!

Dainius Zubrus – C/RW (NJ):  Seriously if his first name were his last name and vice-versa, would it make any difference to you?

Andrew Brunette – LW/RW (Chi):  I actually had some pretty high hopes for this guy in the preseason.  He was just a year removed from a 61 Point season in MINNESOTA, so I figured going to Chicago would at least get him back to the 60 Point threshold.  Yeah not so much.  Brunette notched just his 12th Goal of the season yesterday and I’m starting to wonder why I didn’t go with the Blonde…

Kyle Brodziak – C (Min):  He has 21 Goals?  When the crap did this happen?  Kyle Brodziak is the falling tree in that ancient Chinese proverb….  God I hate Wikipedia.  Turns out that saying is not Chinese and it’s not even a proverb.  It was just a question some random philosopher asked 300 years ago…  But you get my point.

Mikko Koivu – C (Min):  2 players from the Wild?  This has got to be a first…  Well it was a nice 2 point night for Saku’s younger, more talented, and better looking brother Mikko.  Still it’s been a down year overall and I gotta admit my fondness for Mikko has taken a big hit.  Now watch me end up with him on every team next year.  Damn you Value Pick theory!!!
