Claude Giroux’s successful plan to run Carter and Richards out of town couldn’t be going any better (unsubstantiated rumor). He’s scored a Goal in all 3 Flyer games now and added 2 Assists yesterday. I ranked him #28 overall a couple months ago and mark it down he’ll finish in the Top 20.. Just for craps and laughs, ESPN had him ranked #37 and Yahoo had him #35. Take that Fantasy Industrial Complex!!!
Danrik Sedin – C/LW (Van): Ho hum another 2 point game each for the twins. If you have either one just enjoy, it’s gonna be another great regular season.
Alex Burrows – LW (Van): Haven’t mentioned Burrows at all yet but he’s getting a good amount of Power Play minutes and can produce for stretches, especially while Kesler is out.
Chris Pronger – D (Phi): Had a Goal and an Assist and looks good so far this year with points in all 3 games. IF you (we) can get 65-70 Games out of him he’ll be a Top 20 Defenseman… By the way I watched this entire game and man was it good. Philly is a cup contender no doubt (and obviously so is Vancouver).
Alex Edler – D (Van): Is getting major PP minutes with the Sedins and appears to be the replacement for Christian Erhoff on the Power Play. He’s still young (25) and started to come on last year with 33 Points in 51 Games. I’m trying to trade for him in a couple leagues and I heed you to do the same.
Nathan Horton – RW (Bos): Welcome to the party pal! Horton had his 1st Point of the season yesterday in the Bruin’s 4th game… Yeah not exactly what I was thinking when I put him 24th on my RW rankings (ahead of guys like Doan, Hemsky and Pominville). I own him in a league and I’m getting worried, so should you…
Joni Pitkanen – D (Car): So is the name Joni a normal guy’s name in Finland? Or is it their version of this? Either way its an awful name… Carolina is going with 2 D-men on their top Power Play unit (Kaberle and Joni) and Pitkanen has proven fantasy relevant in the past (46Points/19PPP’s 2 years ago). No reason why he couldn’t do that again. If you’re short on D and he’s available pick him up ASAP.
Tyler Seguin – C (Bos): Finally notched his 1st Goal of the season and now has 4 Points in 4 Games. Mr. Seguin and I are taking it slowly, but I see big things for us in the future…
Cam Ward – G (Car): Finally got off the schnide with a Win on only 2 Goals allowed. He was coming off two pretty bad outings to start the season so this could be the start of a nice run. Ward is one of the streakier Goalies in the league.
Gabriel Landeskog – LW (Col): The rookie scored his 1st career Goal and is playing on the 3rd line with Ryan O’Reilly and Daniel Winnik. Not exactly a great place to be. Still the line has been playing well and he’s got talent so keep an eye on him
Rick Nash – LW/RW (CBJ): Another Goal and Assist for slick Rick. He’s got 5 points in 4 Games and I’m predicting a repeat of his ’08-’09 season (40Goals/39Assists). And that’s still my prediction when he gets traded in 3 months…
Derek Dorsett – RW (CBJ): A budding FAGNOF superstar Dorsett got in a nice little scuffle last night with Cody Mcleod. It was a good one. Dorsett put up a whopping 184PIM’s last year and god willing he’ll get there again this year.
