What’s poppin’, Razzpimples?
If you’re new to this column or have no idea what the Friday/Sunday split is, it’s a simple yet effective way to maximize your weekly output no matter the format of your league. Typically — and it’s not always the case — heavy game loads are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, whereas Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays are lighter. Streaming players on those lighter days is almost a necessity to ensure you’re getting the most of each week, but this column focuses on just Fridays and Sundays. Reason being is that you get more bang for your waiver add buck in picking up a guy who will play those two days and will almost always be able to slot into your starting lineup without having to sacrifice someone else to the bench.
Let’s do it to it.

Real short read this week. Only one team on the Friday/Sunday slate: the Calgary Flames. Next week, we’ve got five!
Calgary Flames (FRI @CBJ || SUN @DET)
Andrew Mangiapane has dual-wing eligibility on Fantrax and is already up to 4 PTS in 3 GP this year. He’s at 58% rostered at the time of writing this, so odds aren’t too bad that you can scoop him up for a couple games to close finish out your weekly matchup. Saw 4:30 PPTOI in the last tilt against Washington and over 17 mins overall.
Mikael Backlund doesn’t have a point yet, but he’s still a good streaming option nonetheless. Kind of a bummer he’s only eligible at C, though he’s extra useful in leagues that count FOW and/or plus-minus. Last year, he ripped a career-high 260 shots on goal while also setting a career-high with 56 PTS. Is the dude a hold? Definitely not in most formats. Still worth a stream.
Dillon Dube had a goal (via the PP) and an assist last game. His ice time is a little less than ideal, as he’s yet to crack 15 minutes in three games. Does get some PP deployment, seeing 3:42 PPTOI on Monday, so at least there’s that.
Nikita Zadorov is a decent bet for some speculative HIT+BLK+PIM. Pretty much worthless for anything else.
Blake Coleman used to be a HIT+SOG machine. That’s not quite the case since he’s joined Calgary, but he is averaging 3 SOG to this point. Could do worse.
Need blocks? Christopher Tanev already has 10.
