In Alexander Semin‘s first 27 games of the season, he had 5 Goals. Now all of a sudden, he’s got 4 Goals in his last 5 games (including 2 last night). Maybe he just wasn’t healthy those first 2 months, but I put the blame squarely on his Russian laziness. Whatever it is that lit a fire under his butt is not important. The only thing you need to know is that if he is properly motivated, he could lead the league in Goals from here on out. So if you own him you have to just forget his horrawful start and ride the wave, it might not break until the end of the season…
Petr Sykora – RW (NJ): Is it just me or does it feel like Petr Sykora has been out of the NHL for like, an entire decade?
Pekka Rinne – G (Nsh): Rinne Ribounds after giving up 9 Goals in his last 3 games. At this point it’d be tough to envision him coming close to what he did last season, but he’ll still be plenty good. And if you own him in a H2H league he’s just as capable as anyone to go 3-0 with 2 Shutouts the first week of the playoffs.
Jonathan Quick – G (LA): J-Quick just keeps doin it and doin it well. 16W/2.06GAA/.930SV% and his 5TH Shutout last night. Nothing else needs to be said… except that he won’t keep that up… but he’ll still be good… okay i’m done now…
Trent Hunter – RW (LA): So this is what it’s come to Kings? You’re two main offensive threats are a 31 year old New York Islanders castoff, and 29 year old Oiler castoff (Jarret Stoll)? That would be my first argument for J-Quick getting the Vezina…
Tuuka Rask – G (Bos): Come on Tim Thomas does the #1 seed in hockey mean anything? I know it’s still early so I won’t get on you too much, but isn’t there a hamstring somewhere about to pop?
Henrik Sedin – C (Van): 33 Assists in 37 games is just goofy. Both he and his sist…eeeerrrrrr… brother are capable of breaking 100 points this year.
Alex Edler – D (Van): Continues to stay hot with 2 Assists yesterday. Very slowly (and quietly) Al-Ed is becomming a stud #1 fantasy defenseman.
Sidney Crosby – C (Pit): The news keeps getting worse and if I had to put a month’s paycheck down on whether or not he will play again this year I’d bet NO.
PROGRAMMING NOTE: I’ve been having serious issues with my home internet the last week which is why I’ve been getting these out late in the morning.
