Hello Razzballers, Reid here.

While Viz is off doing things in Vegas that will inherently stay in Vegas, I’m going to bring you the daily writeup from the Monday and Tuesday games (doing a separate post for just one game on Monday makes absolutely no sense). Nikita Kucherov is against hot hot hot as he has a goal in each of the first 6 games for Tampa Bay. I’m only going to highlight the notables from these games that you should be focusing on.

Monday

Justin Abdelkader had a goal and an assist in this one. His penalty shot goal was filthy (I can’t believe I am actually typing that for Abdelkader) and he made a nice play on the Mike Green goal.

Mike Green had a goal on 6 shots with over 22 minutes of TOI. He’s playing some great hockey and is the only real defenseman I see on this roster. He was already a must own and if he stays healthy, could make for a good #4D on your roster.

Nikita Kucherov has 2 goals and is up to 7 on the year. He was Viz’s man crush and I’m starting to get some feelings for him as well. He’ll be challenging Ovi for the Rocket Richard trophy this year.

Victor Hedman had an assist, a SOG, and 4 hits. He was a monster for you in leagues with atypical categories.

Tuesday

Evgeni Malkin with a 4 point night (1G 3A) as he was a monster. Rangers fans will have nightmares about him. He’s a top-5 talent in the league when healthy so enjoy it while you can.

Phil Kessel had a 3 point night as well. That whole line clicked. Obviously should be owned everywhere. I’ll even go as far as to say Patric Hornqvist should be owned in all leagues as well. Too much depth in the Pittsburgh top-6 to just focus one line.

Ryan Reaves: HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA dude played less than 4 minutes. Can someone please tell me why Jimmy Rutherford traded for him again?

JT Miller with a 3 point night. The Rangers depth on offense seems to be working against them right now. This team doesn’t look right.

David Desharnais had a goal and an assist. As the proverb goes: A broken clock is still right twice a day.

Mika Zibanejad had an assist but more importantly 8 SOG. Clearly he gives 0 fucks about setting his teammates up and I’m completely ok with that.

Tony DeAngelo had an assist from the blue line with over 3 minutes of PP time. If you’re hurting, he could be a sneaky add for now. Worth a stream look if the Rangers keep playing in high-scoring games.

King Henrik gave up 5 goals on 33 shots. It hasn’t been pretty this year. You drafted him as a #2 goalie. You’re going to have to ride the storm out. If you can find something like a Scotty Darling in Carolina as a trade target, I would see if you can rob your competition.

Owen Tippett made his NHL debut for the Panthers and registered 7 SOG. That is the kind of mentality that makes Viz get all hot and bothered.

Wayne Simmonds had a goal, an assist, a fight, and an injury in this one. It’s being described as a lower body injury right now but who the hell knows with how hockey coaches mislead with player injuries. Keep an eye on this one as he could miss a couple games.

Shayne Gostisbehere is getting less than ideal TOI, but he’s being efficient. Still the PP1 defenseman on this roster and had a 2 point night along with 6 shots on net. This Flyers team is such an enigma I love it.

Claude Giroux had a 2 point night and was very efficient in his game. He’s up to 9 points on the season.

Mitch Marner played on the 4th fucking line in this one. I… I don’t really know what to say. This feels like colossal mismanagement of talent. No points for Money Mitch, but the 12ish minutes of ice time have to be concerning.

Frederik Andersen with the shutout. This game had all the makings for a western shootout. Great performance by Andersen in this one stopping all 30 shots that came his way.

NOBODY ON WASHINGTON BECAUSE WHY THE HELL COULDN’T YOU SCORE AT LEAST ONE GOD DAMN GOAL

I want to preface this next game by saying that I’m absolutely in love with this New Jersey Devils squad and how they are attacking everything right now.

Ondrej Palat with a beauty of a PP goal and 5 SOG. The thing that caught my eye was his TOI. 21+ minutes is something to love. He should be streamed at a minimum in all leagues.

Steven Stamkos had a 3 point night (1G 2A). He is very good at the game of ice hockey. In fact, that whole line is pretty good at the sport. Nikita Kucherov AGAIN had a goal and added an apple to give him 12 points on the season (#1 in the NHL folks) while Vladislav Namestikov had a gorgeous goal early in the game.

Mikhail Sergachev had 2 assists in this one but don’t jump on the train yet. The 13 minutes of ice time scares me and they had 7 defensemen dressed for this one. I’d keep an eye on him, but holding off for now.

Let’s just give props to the entire 1st line for New Jersey. Taylor Hall looked dynamic on the LW as he added an assist with 3 shots. Nico Hischier is the real deal and looked great acquiring 2 assists in this game. Drew Stafford scored twice in a single game in the year 2017 and the spacetime continuum might just be broken.

Will Butcher is up to 9 assists on the season and that is 5 more than he has shots on the season. If you need assist help, grab him asap while he’s hot.

Brock Boeser looked like the real deal for Vancouver as he had a goal and an assist. If he dresses for a game, I think he’s worth a stream or cheap DFS option.

Michael Del Zotto had an assist but the 25+ minutes of ice time make him must own in my opinion. This team has more talent than you’d expect and if anyone on this blue line is going to get the points, it’ll be him.

Anders Nilsson with the shutout. He played a great game and made a couple big saves. Still not worth owning but could be an interesting streaming option if you’re desperate for a start.

Erik Karlsson didn’t register a point (they got shutout, duh) but holy god is that man beautiful. Fantastic lettuce. His first game back from injury and he looked pretty fluid out there. Make sure you activated him from the IR on your roster.

Filip Forsberg and Viktor Arvidsson had dominating performances against the Avs. 2 assists for Forsberg and a 1+1 for Arvy. Roman Josi looked pretty pretty pretty healthy out there. 1G and 1A along with 7 SOG for the Swiss defender as he looked real good.

The usual suspects registered points for Columbus as they beat Winnipeg 5-2. The guys you already own are starting no matter what for you. Nothing too crazy about their stat lines this game.

Kyle Connor impressed me with his goal and with him playing with the top line, he should be a high-end streamer right now if not owned outright.

Steve Mason again did Winnipeg goalie things and let in 5 goals. I know the defense stinks for this team, but good god will they ever find a goalie?

Adin Hill gave up 2 goals on 33 shots faced for the Coyotes while Antti Raanta is out with an injury. Hill looked good but this team hasn’t won a game yet. Stay away for now.

Radek Faksa with a goal and assist tonight, but still played less than 12 minutes. Don’t read too much into this performance.

Alex Radulov aka Central Casting Russian Mob Boss had a goal with 5 shots on net. He’s still going to put up points when they keep playing him with the power couple of Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin.

Dan Hamhuis had a goal and assist in the game. Not really much else to add there.

Cam Ward had 48 saves on 51 shots and oh my god my earlier fears about the spacetime continuum might have been valid. WHAT YEAR IS THIS!!?!?!??!!

Jordan Staal had 4 points tonight (1G 3A) and even a blind squirrel finds a nut (or 4 points) every once in a while.

Teuvo Teravainen had two goals and should be owned in all formats. This team should be able to score like crazy. God he looked great.

Elias Lindholm scored and added 3 shots on net. Again, these Carolina forwards look legit as hell.

Justin Faulk had 2 apples in this one and is one of the most underrated defensemen in the game. So smooth out there.

Jacob Slavin had a goal and an assist again and he’s also amazing. My crush on the Hurricanes is borderline not healthy.

Connor McJesus played all of the minutes and an assist. With Leon Draisatl out, this team is really struggling to score right now. Who would have thought Edmonton would be near the basement in the West?

Jason Pominville had 2 assists tonight and is now up to 8 points in 7 games… in 2017… seriously… I’m not kidding.

Evander Kane had a goal and 2 assists on 5 shots. He’s a monster in every category and you have to love his performance so far (It’s a contract year. You should have seen this coming).

Jack Eichel added 2 helpers as well tonight and is now up to 9 points in 7 games. I predicted he’d get to around 90 points this year and I’m loving the production so far.

Ryan O’Reilly had two goals that were desperately needed for him. Hopefully this gets him out of the funk he and the rest of this team are currently riding and he can produce at a 65pt level.

Samson Reinhart scored and it doesn’t matter because you dropped him already. I have a feeling that you should add him back to your roster. They could just blow the doors off Vancouver on Friday.

David Perron had two goals including the game winner. Looked quick on the ice and had a filthy shot. He’s getting the workload and can be added in all formats I believe.

James Neal had two assists and I genuinely didn’t know he was allowed to get those.

Alex Tuch had a goal and 4 shots on net. He’s somebody you could stream. Big body who seems to have a knack for getting in the high-danger areas on offense. That’s the kind of guy who just puts up numbers, which is all you should care about because this is fantasy hockey after all.

Montreal has three players who are playing at a high level right now. The problem is that the rest of the team is either playing really poorly or isn’t getting on the ice at all (looking at you Alex Galchenyuk). Shea Weber had a beauty clapper goal on the PP which should surprise nobody. Jonathan Drouin is the workhorse on offense and had a goal and an assist with 3 shots. He’s playing excellent hockey right now.

Joe Pavelski and Joe Thornton both had a goal and an assist in typical Jumbo Joe/Joe Jr fashion.

Logan Couture had 2 goals and 2 assists in this match and was dynamite with the puck. Always love it when a member of the #BillsMafia lights up the scoreboard.
