Anaheim goaltender Victor Fasth turned aside all 31 Colorado shots and the Ducks posted a 3-0 win in Denver last night to improve to 7-1-1. Fasth has won his last three starts and allowed two total goals in them. More impressively, he dealt San Jose its first regulation loss of the season and kept Minnesota at bay as well.

Sheldon Souray led the Ducks with a goal and an assist in the win. Souray has now scored in three straight games so the veteran defenseman is piling up the points for your team if you have him.

It was a light night on ice so let’s check out the other two games.

Tyler Seguin and David Krejci scored third-period goals to lift the Bruins to a 2-1 over Montreal. Tuukka Rask improved to 6-1-1 stopping 20 of 21 Canadien shots for his second straight win. Boston’s goals in the first 2:05 of the third erased the lead that P.K. Subban staked Montreal to.

Dallas slipped past Edmonton 3-2 in overtime on a Jaromir Jagr goal 1:46 into overtime. Jagr and Jamie Benn each had a goal and an assist in the win so Benn looks like he’s heating up after a late start to the season. Edmonton was without Ryan Nugent-Hopkins who was scratched with a shoulder injury. The Oilers’ goals came from Ales Hemsky and Justin Schultz.

Multiple Goal Scorers-NONE for just the second time this season.

Stat of the Night

Subban’s goal for Montreal came on the power play and the Canadiens have scored with the man advantage in 8 of their first 9 games to open the season.

Three Stars of the Night

1. Fasth Shutout of the Avalanche

2. Jagr Game-winner and two-point night

3. Souray Two-point night and goals in three straight games.
