Chicago started out hot and never looked back en route to the Stanley Cup. Patrick Kane and company started the season 21-0-3 and cruised to a 36-7-5 finish and the President’s Trophy. Let’s put in our tape of Chelsea Dagger in and hum along as we look back at the champs’ season in fantasy hockey.

Team Name: Chicago Blackhawks

Record: 36-7-5, 1st Central, Won Stanley Cup

Player of the Season: Kane led the Hawks with a 23-32–55 line, 17 PP points, +11 rating and only 8 PIMs. He was the best player in the regular season and kept going in the playoffs when he won the Conn Smythe Trophy.

Breakout of the Season:  Brandon Saad finished fifth on the team with a solid 10-17–27 line and a +17 rating. The rookie had a great debut season, won a Cup and should produce for years to come in Chicago.

Disappointment of the Season: The Hawks finished 19th on the power play and were a dismal 1-of-19 in the finals. Not like they needed any help scoring goals.

Team Analysis: They were second in goals for (3.1), first in goals against (2.0), and third on the penalty kill (87.2%). The team had stellar players in Kane and Johnathan Toews (23-25–48, 6 PP points and a +28) and they had six other players with at least 20 points this season. Yeah, they were really damn good.

2013-2014 Story Lines:  How many of these guys will be back next season? There are going to be some free agents and Chicago will have to make some tough decisions.

2013-2014 Fantasy Guys to Have: Kane, Toews, Saad, Marian Hossa, Duncan Keith, Seabrook, Patrick Sharp, Corey Crawford, Ray Emery,

Guys On the Fringe: Stalberg, Bickell, Leddy, Shaw,
