Dang, Ward #1!
Also, double dang that my league decided to axe keepers yet again. Would’ve maybe started the year keeping Ludqvist, Smith, and Howard..
MAN, AS A HAWKS FAN, IT’S NOT LOOKING GOOD FOR CRAWFORD.
Ranking anyone – ANYONE – but Lundqvist at 1 is ridiculous. Seriuosly.
@Lixxiq: It’s not a matter of Ward being RANKED #1 OVERALL… I just feel that he will have the best year in terms of wins if the Canes can get the chemistry going early on. Lundqvist will put up better all around numbers but Ward will have more wins in my opinion.
Frank – Thanks for the forecast. You don’t happen to have GAA or Save % projections by chance?
@Giacomo: Originally in the intitial full season rankings I did, but had to scratch them as I wanted to turn around the conversion from 82 to 48 games as quick as possible. I will see if I have time to do the full shebang by this weekend.
I’m an optimistic Islander fan, but Nabby at #11????
@Curt: If Harmonic were healthy, he’d be in the top 10… He’s still got some gas left in the tank and if the Isles can trade for another top 4 dman, things could get interesting!
any idea where i could get full projections in spreadsheet format?
http://www.dobbersports.com/dobbersports-shop/dobberhockey-products.html has a TREMENDOUS slew of draft resources that are my go to thing each year. In depth and well worth the money IMO. And he’s updated EVERYTHING to be tailored to the shortened season.
Wow, Cory Schneider outside the top-10. VAN could easily win the most games this season. Is Luongo still in town keeping him down?
Precisely sir, until Luongo is moved.. Schneider has a black cloud over his fantasy value, if/when that trade happens.. Schneider’s value goes up immediately.
Is Devan Dubnyk that good.
Not saying that the Oilers are going to be incredbile, but with their young core and addition of Schultz, there’s a strong support staff in front of Dubnyk and his potential is pretty incredible in his own right. Future top 5 keeper league goalie if all falls into place for him and that team.
I don’t suppose you have a complete listing of all players (skaters & goalies) compiled, do you? I’d like to see where you’d draft the goalies in relation to the skaters.
@Scottie O.: I really like this idea! I’m also curious on how you feel about Damien Brunner for this year? I take a late round flier on him and I’m hoping I struck gold. Thanks!!
Working on a complete OVERALL list for skaters and goalies. It’s tough to finalize anything yet with the schedule not being out and having a better idea on the amount of back to back game nights which will add to and take away value to certain goalies.
As for Brunner, the chemistry and he’s built up with Zetterberg already is insane. And if that carries over AT ALL to the NHL, look out!
anyone have any love for Anders Lindback
Nabokov seems a bit high considering his job security doesn’t seem stable. Especially if he has a few bad games. What do you think?
@BringDaRuckus: if Nabokov is motivated this year he could be a top ten goalie. He did not want to be there last year
Carolina was 6th worst in Goals Against last year. What changes? I think everyone is over hyping Carolina. Although I do think Staal has a great year.
Over hyping for sure, they didn’t do much to solidify their blueline and have a hand full of younger players in the mix. But I have a strong feeling that they moves they did make along with the importance of every single game will boost Ward’s confidence and he’ll return to his playing days from their cup run.
@Frank:
Could be. I just read your fantasy sleepers and I’m suprised with all your Caps love that you are in on Carolina as well. It will be interesting to see how Semin fits into the equation. On one hand, I could see a change in scenery and being paired with E. Staal lead to a dynamite season. But, I wouldn’t be suprised if he plays poorly and sucks the whole team down either.
By the way, I’d much rather have Mike Smith over Cam personally but I can see your thinking. Great content. I’m definitely going to continue to check out your content. I’ll shoot you a reply when I update my rankings.
eyoo, which side of this deal do you like, and why?
halak/moulson vs rask/pacioretty
Rask/Pacioretty side for me… younger with more upside moving forward.
Trading draft picks:
This is a one player keeper league The league’s keepers are:
Jaroslav Halak
Mike Smith
Kari Lehtonen
Claude Giroux (his keeper)
John Tavares
James Neal
Patrick Sharp
Tyler Seguin
Erik Karlsson
Jordan Eberle (my keeper)
Kris Letang
Patrice Bergeron
I was offered this trade
His 1rst round 2nd overall pick
for
My 1rst round 4th overall pick and my 4th round pick
If i accept this offer, i would pick Stamkos or Malkin. if i don’t , i would most likely have to pick from ovechkin or corey perry.
I am leaning towards accepting this deal. I just want to know what everyone else thinks.
Thanks
I’d lean towards accepting the offer, although, you aren’t worse off if you don’t accept. I would roll the dice as your keeper is decent but having Stamkos/Malkin would help propel you into a better spot, then make up for losing your 4th round pick by looking for some hidden gems in the late rounds.
So I’m pretty sure all leagues use GAA and SV% in addition to W and SHO…how are these rankings really relevant when you just rank based on how many W they get? That’s just 1 category
